so we had a bad night last night as he was in so much pain and this morning he wakes up and its all bleeding between his legs..

I dont understand how this can happen as when he is in my care he has never had any rash what so ever. So he is never going back to daycare EVER.. sorry i had to let it all out here as i am so upset about this as i have paid money for my son to be neglected :crying:

 OMG! thats disgraceful...

your poor bubba! :crying:

i hope he heals quickly & you can push thru your 'valid' outrage at such an awful thing... :fingerscrossed:
i know i couldnt..

i'd be taking photos this time, & taking further action..
at least reporting it to wherever youre meant to,
so if others out there are having similar probs then your history will at least help there case in getting action taken... IYKWIM

we have taken photos this time as it is horrible this time and going to write a letter to the head office and attach the pic probably wont do anything about it or even care as it is one big money making company...

thanks for all the kind words.

ok...have you thought about the different products that they may use at the centre. Your bubby might be allergic to the wipes or their nappies or something?
If it was me, I'd have a trial of sending in my own nappies, wipes, cream etc and see if it happens then.
My girls go to ABC and I've never had any complaints with them. I think they even have a nappy folder whereby they change the bubs nappy quite frequently?

I would call the accred. council if you are that keen on making a complaint. And make sure u tell head office that u will be making a complaint to the accreditation...they will take you seriously

Are u sure its not an allergy? Do you bring your own nappies cream ect?

Have you asked them to see the nappy charts as all his changes will have been documented. It just seems very strange to me that you say he has gone there with no sign of a rash and yet he has developed such a bad rash in such a short amount of time. In my opinion a rash of such nature and that bad does not develop in such a short amount of time even if he has been sitting in a wet/dirty nappy. I would look into it maybe there is something he reacts to badly. For example something he has eaten or drunk, wipes, nappies (if the centre supplies them) or most of all he may be allergic to the dissenfectant that the centre uses to spray down the change table after each change. (I know of a child who this has happened to)

But as you say he is probably better off at home with you then you are the one in control of the situation.

well i think its absoloutely disgusting they let it get this bad:no:

personally i dont think its a rash from an allergic reaction...there was a time my son had exactly the same thing but it wasnt at a centre when it happened, id put him to bed and he ended up pooing and filling his nappy with wee and when he woke up he had very sore legs wich took a week to heal:crying:
this should not have happened at a centre....i work in a centre and we have to by law record every nappy change and what the child did- wee or poo....
please try to understand not every centre is bad:no: but those who are should be reported to accreditation...
i hope ur son feels better really soon :hugs:

You poor think! Your poor, poor son!! I feel so bad for him, we get our fair share of nappy rash problems here and it's just heartbreaking.

Get a big tube of DAKTOZIN, it's cool and soothing, increddibly thick and will speed up the healing process- It stays on the skin and does the job so well- it doesn't even come off in the nappy overnight, it's that good. Although it's specially for fungal-type rashes, it's wonderful to have on hand and use when it's too bad for anything else. Please get some hon :hugs:

I would call the accred. council if you are that keen on making a complaint. And make sure u tell head office that u will be making a complaint to the accreditation...they will take you seriously

That's what I'd be doing. It's what others I know have done here for our local childcare centre (same chain)

Check these charts. And I also wanted to say- Ronan would develop a rash in a very short time also- it's not that strange. And that's with him home with me! It would just burn straight away and the rash would galop off outta control within minutes. It's just how some kids are.

Good on you for making the decision to stay home- you'll save yourself (and your bub) this sort of awful experience again. I've recently made the same choice.. Good for you! :hugs:

You could always consider a nanny..

I have worked in childcare for over 10 yrs and I have to say that what happened to your bub is disgraceful!! Never have I had a child in that state ever. The children are our no.1 priority and to have that happen is just not acceptable. I would definately be reporting them to the accrediation council, docs or the local council or all 3.

Unfortunately that is just another story of neglect I have heard about ABC centres.

UNACCEPTABLE!

I have had my daughter come home with a rash but i believe it was the wipes as they change her nappies at the daycare centre she goes to two days a week more than i would at home! (costs me a fortune, ha ha ha!)

That sounds like a horrible case of nappy rash, the poor sweet heart. Is it hot up there? Maybe that was a cause of it?

There are good centres out there, you should address your issue with the director though - is your son otherwise happy?

Peoples dont be turned off care there are wonderful people...

That is horrible about the nappy rash but in my opinion I don't think you can blame the centre.

The regulations are generally nappy changes every 2 hours and it is documented. I would check on this.

It sounds like it flared up quickly, perhaps a food allergy, or some other reaction as it sounds quite severe.

Big hugs to you :hugs: .

My son had a very bad tummy for a week and the centre he went to very careful with him, at that time I bought nappy liners to use as wipes with water so nothing would aggrevate the rash and used good old cornflour and that helped alot.

Hi, I'm an early childhood teacher, and what happened is awful.
Make sure you follow this up, and make a big deal about it, otherwise the staff won't think it's a big deal.
they have a responsiblity to look after your child.
Good luck.

Yeah I am a child care worker too! How awful! Definetly ask to see the nappy change charts, you are in your right to do that.
