Early ovulation - what causes it?

Hey everyone, i need your input here pretty please :yelclap:

I have an average cycle of 30 days, however my last cycle was only 27 days cause I ovulated CD14. I still had a luteal phase of 13 days, just o'd early. I usually ovulate day CD16-18, usually CD17.

They say your luteal phase pretty much stays the same, it is the period between CD1 and ovulation that makes a cycle vary in days.

So my question is, do you know what can cause you to ovulate early? any ideas? :confused:

I have no idea - but if u find out - pleeeaaase share - i would loooove to ovulate early!
I've only heard about ovulation being delayed because of stress etc.

Any fluctuation in hormones can cause delayed or early ovulation. As you stated it is the time before O that gets messed up sometimes. As long as you know you O'ed then I wouldn't worry at all. It is not uncommon to have a shorter cycle sometimes. I would worry more if you ovulated to late, or if your luteul phase was to short.

I guess your estrogen and LH surged early due to some reason, however i wouldnt worry about it because it doesnt matter if the first part of your cycle is short, but if you have a Leutal Phase of 10 days or under you should see a specialist.

Hmm roxy, I dont know either.. but I do know I am O'ong abotu CD11 or 12 lately.. I was going to ask my Doc. Im CD 11 now and have doc app on CD22, so I will PM you if he gives me any reasons :)

I am not worried about it, cause my cycles are regular, my lutual phases are long enough, i am just interested in finding out what can cause it! :)

My first cycle off the pill was 31 days the next was 42 and now im cd 15 and got a pos opk this morning...I o'd last month CD 28...so im oing early for some reason...

my cycle is all over the joint...

Oing earlier is usually a sign of good health! People often find that as they become healthier, eating better foods- better nutrition etc, they start to O earlier. The eggs are also better quality if you O earlier as they arn't 'old' and you have a better chance of getting pg. Please share your secret with us!!
