Not sure if I am in the right area but I have a query about my 31/2 month old rolling in her sleep.
She started rolling about 2 weeks ago and now she rolls immediately you put her in her back. She is up on her hands and pushing forward on her knees but her belly is still on the ground. I have to keep saving her from headbutting lounges etc as she moves quite quickly accross the floor. So basically she is quite strong for her age I think. Which is fine but now she gets put to sleep on her back and will stay that way for awile the she has to roll and sleep on her belly with her knees under her. I am a little concerned as I think she is still in the high risk for SIDS till 6 months isnt it? I have tried turning her back in her sleep but she either wakes or rolls back.
I was just hoping to get some feedback to make me feel better about it as I dont think there is much I can do
Cheers

Anna

Hugs to you :hugs: I know exactly what you are going through and you are not alone - my dd did the same thing from 9 wks old.

We first tried putting her back on her back, our record was 7 times in 20 mins :)

Then we called the SIDS helpline who said you could try a sleeping bag (no thankyou not in the middle of summer) and this may not help as she was already rolling over.

We were also given a few other product suggestions (from other sources) that are out there ... but dd would just wriggle out of everything.

We eventually gave up, kept checking on her and after a couple of weeks we got used to it. She is now 10 mths old and walking around the house getting into all sorts of mischief :)

As long as you are putting her down on her back, there is nothing else in the cot and you are sticking to the SIDS rules your little bub will be fine.

You can get summer sleeping bags that are safety ones that have a strap that go through the sleeping bag and under the cot mattress, encourages bub to stays on their back. They are very light weight with short sleeves and roomy.

I actually have one that was never used still in the packet as bought a summer by mistake when wanted a winter. Size 00 It was $60. If you are interested PM me as happy to sell it to you can send photo etc. I will have to dig it out the cupboard to see what it is actually called. I think it is called 'safe sleeper'.

I cosleep with DS and he sleeps in my bed during the day too and when he first started rolling in his sleep he rolled off the bed a few times but he was always fine after a cuddle. I was actually more worried putting him in the cot because within a few minutes he'd start screaming because hed get a hand stuck between the rails or something. You can get things to try and help with it though. Plus i've always ignored the sids rule things, and to tell you the truth im not even sure what the guidelines are for sids... hope you find something to help put your mind at ease.
