:detective: You could get your DH/DP to make one out of old railroad sleepers. And use a tarp to cover the sand over.

The large plastic clam/shell (commonly used as a pool) are great as a sandpit and they are quite reasonably priced (Toys R us sell them).

We have used one up until now as it is big enough for one, but for Christmas we are getting the boys the boat shape one from Kmart so they can spread out a bit - the sandpit is a daily activity in this house.

DF made Porsha one for her b'day. Just used sleepers. It looks great, and she love it.

We got Double Washed sand from Bunnings in the bags. It only took 3 bags to fill ours and I think from memory cost us about $20-25.

Thanks for all the great ideas, dont know if id want DP to make one though, he would get right into it, planing it, getting all the stuff and then it would just sit there for agggges! haha

He wanted to do a whole new backyard and garden when we brought our house so he ripped out all the existing gardens and edging etc then nothing! He wanted to have it finished just after xmas.......xmas last year!!

Will have to look at bunnings on the weekend though, that one sounds really nice and im ringing kmart about the boat onetoday, thanks guys :yelclap:
