View Full Version : Home Beautiful
You've called in the decorators!
Your flipping through their catalogue and pointing to a room or rooms that you would like done to your home.
Oooh, and did I just win lotto to pay for it?
Well a garden of eden bathroom springs to mind. I can imagine walking down the hall at night, opening the bathroom door to the sounds of birds sweetly singing, the newly completed but well camoflaged hot tub is bubbling amongst the array of ferns and tropical flowers. Butterflies are flying around, but mysteriously they never land in the pina colada that is sitting beside the hot tub....... ok, well you said it was time to imagine. :D Of course there would be a glass ceiling to watch the stars through, and an array of little candles flickering.
Oh I nearly forgot that I would, of course, have a magnificently supple well tanned and glowing size 8 body to slip into the hot tub.
Colours - lots of greenery, vivid butterflies, white candles, big white soft fluffy towels..... should I go on?
wattle,I think I'd like you as my decorator..that sounds like absolute heaven!! :D
2 of them actually. 1 is just never enough. Yes, pass the peeled grapes please, oh and my back needs a little wash too (wink wink)
Damn slippery soap. Maybe I'd better just stick to body wash gel? Now where is the maid with my hand made belgian chocolates?

O's Mum and Manpower! Is Jammie Durrie there by any chance?
he he
And loving it! Go on, nick off, get your own fantasy...... la la la de dum splash splash. :D

Your all so so bad! Naughty girls ;) what ever would DH think heh!
Back to decorating.....If I had no bubba to speak of I would go all white and very modern with lots of glass and leather and instead of the man power (totally not my scene) my man servant would be a sexy dark suit type  with an italian accent and a brief case (thats totally HOT) I love the brief case fantasy coz DH only ever takes an esky or tool box to work LOL his a plumber!
P.S love this thread Kevinbudgie, for all the wrong reasons ;)

i'm sorry - what was the question again?? i'd love to do an indulgent bedroom. Big bed, lots of pillows and sensual materials. i'd love to get the fireplace in our room working as well. the bedroom's too small but i'd love to have burgundies and deep greens. and if we were waving the magic wand, the bedroom would look out onto the beach and we'd have a walk-in wardrobe and an ensuite...maybe in the next house...
Okay in my make believe world where money and kids don't get in the way of plans.....a tropical home with slide away walls and breezeways and at least one shower and bath that is outdoors but private. Lots of wood and clear glass, a mosaic or two in the garden, and possibly the home, lots of built in storage to hide my clutter in, long low couches with cotton covers for lying on while reading, at least one hammock spot under shade with a lovely leafy garden around it, a big kitchen with lots of wood and stainless steel and a gas stove and a big fridge and huge pantry and a big window over a deck, a dining room that opens onto a deck, verandahs all around. Colours - splashes of bright primary colours against white (I am just not a neutrals/beige person no matter how trendy it is!), big colourful artwork - mostly Australian and original.........hmmmm that is just off the top of my head. Can you tell it is a stinking hot day in Brissy today and I am longing for some Darwin architecture to get us through??

mmmhmmm. I vote with Theresa. I love the idea of no clutter and movable wall, Japanese style, being able to open the entire house up to the air and view.
But my main redecorating would be to build a secure luxury workshop/bike barn for my DH and get the bike clutter out of the house. It must have its own laundry so I never have to touch or smell disgusting jerseys and shorts ever again. Ahhh. Paradise.
i hope there's a guest room, draught, i love the sound of your dream house.
.
Forget guest rooms - there is a guest wing - joined pavillion style to the main house of course!!! Perhaps with a swimming pool in between to provide privacy without too much distance?!
And Martha - the bike barn can definitely be incorporated into my plans - as long as there is also golf club storage for my DH - and the seperate laudnry can accomodate the sweaty jerseys and the grass stained socks of both of them!
Dreams....sigh!!

I have decided I need two homes to fulfill my interior design fantasies...
Number one would be sleek, minimalist, cool and open to the (perfect) weather. The ultimate in modern design, with no clutter visible whatsoever.
Number two would be predominantly filled with antiques, Laura Ashley-type frills and flounces, lots of clutter, and a huge library with wall-to-wall books and a wing chair by the fireplace...
BOTH would HAVE to have -
a huge kitchen complete with two ovens, prep pantry, coolroom and wine cellar, where DH could happily whip up gourmet delights
massive heated bathrooms with the biggest spa bath you have ever seen and acres of benchspace for my vast array of expensive cosmetics (we are dreaming, aren't we?)
a big playroom for my DD, filled with lots of good quality toys and an arts-and-crafts table so we can happily play together.
big beautiful gardens, all childproof and leading to a private beach
a live-in cleaning lady who could anticipate my every cleaning wish and lives to work, not works to live!IT NEVER HURTS TO DREAM! :)

Different colour in every room.
Gold for bedroom, purple for living room, burgandy for dining room, black and red for kitchen, green for bathroom, leopard print for toilet, black with metal sidings for computer/music room.
And with velvet drapes in each colour for each room, and matching plush carpet.
Ahh to dream!!

If I had puhlenty money I would like to build the excat replica of the Fallingwater (1935), Bear Run, Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania by the one and only Frank Lloyd Wright somewhere near Byron Bay...
Bliss!! :D

Hey Chellegoth, we have purple colour in the living room at our other place (we renovated it last year) for some reason this colour brings some sort of serenity...
