Has anyone ever experienced continued ferning with the maybe baby shortly after conception?

A friend told me the other day that if you keep testing after ovulation day and you still fern that you could be pregnant - does anyone know if that could be true?

I'm 5dpo and I'm still ferning nearly as much as at ovulation. This is only my 2nd month of tracking though.

That is a possibility but there are also other factors that can affect the reading. Have a look at the FAQ's on http://maybebaby.com.au

I used maybe baby once and had the same thing only to get a :bfp: at the end of it!
So it's very possible for you:fingerscrossed:
It can also mean your AF is coming:rolleyes:

Glad you asked this as I was wondering about my results. I'm 6dpo and had transitional ferning this morning but full on ferning yesterday.

I'm also only on my 2nd month of tracking but have been taking my temperature for a bit longer also.

Bubbles - I'm on a very regular 28 day cycle so I'm hoping it's not my AF! I'm cramping a bit - dull ache so if it IS my AF I'm in for a really rough month because my lower back is also killing me. I did say to DH yesterday that I feel like I could get my AF any minute. :(

Incy Wincy - I'm actually 6dpo today too - I tried to post this last night but bubhub had issues! Today the ferning is greater than the day before. About 4dpo the ferning was less (more transitional) but yesterday and today it increased again. Here's hoping it's :bfp: !!

Angel Girl - thanks for the link - I checked it out and from what it could mean a couple of things - 1) I have a high level of oestrogen, 2) Breastfeeding or 3) Pregnancy.
I've tested for about 6 weeks so I know I have negative, transitional & positive ferning results and I finished breastfeeding a few weeks ago (actually I was weaning but my baby took herself off it completely :crying: ) So I guess the results could also be reflecting the changes in hormones due to the instance cease of breastfeeding?
Let's hope it's the :bfp: though!!


I'd still love to hear if this happened to anyone else!

annabanna I felt the same way. I was certain i was getting AF. I had all the PM symptoms. It's really just a waiting game, and it's hard!

Bubbles - I'm so clueless! You'd think after 3 kids that I'd recognise pregnancy symptoms but I honestly can't remember!
I just keep going to the bathroom to check I haven't got my period!! :laughing:

Full on ferning again today. Don't want to get too excited in case it's nothing. Read this on the Maybe baby website FAQ

19. I am seeing a fern pattern around the time of my period. What does this mean?

It is possible to get a similar fern pattern around the time of menstruation however it DOES NOT indicate ovulation. It is not possible to conceive during menstruation and if a fern pattern develops it should be disregarded.

Hey Girls,

On my 1st cycle off the pill, I used maybe baby and started partial ferning on CD 11, full ferning on day 12, but didn't O until CD19. I continued full ferning all the way through the rest of my cycle, right thru AF as well! So I put my MB aside and guessed I had high levels of oestregen after the pill.

I'm confirmed to be 5 -6 wks preggers now from my 2nd cycle of trying and my maybe baby is fully ferning.

Just thought id check up on those using maybe baby again...chenicimo did you test yet? I tested this morning adn got BFN but I have had full on ferns for 4 days!!! I am still hoping im pg and I should have waited till friday to test be I couldn't help it!:fingerscrossed:

Congratulations!.

I got pregnant the 3rd month after coming off the pill. I've heard it's extremely likely to get pregnant soon after coming off the pill. I heard all these fake stories about the pill taking a year to come out of your system.

AF due today. I've got sore boobs and no ferning so just have to wait and see. Wish this baby would hurry up as I'm getting worried about the age gap between my 1st and baby to be.

Hi all!

Well I'm up to cd 25 now and I've had full ferning to cd 22, didn't check on cd 23, transitional on cd24 and today's hasn't worked very well (I think the last few days have been all over the show because of the time of day I tested?) I usually get a better result at about 2pm but I snack most of the day so getting an uncontaminated result can be tricky.

ANYWAY. . . . I've done a "few" HPT the last few days and this morning I got a REALLY faint line so I'll test again tomorrow morning but things are looking good! :fingerscrossed:

Pippi - I've wasted so much money on pregnancy tests lately - what cd or dpo are you? I've had about 10 days of ferning, with a couple of ?? days where the results didn't work properly. :fingerscrossed: for you too hon! Keep us posted! I'll post again tomorrow morning!

I am up to CD19 and i'm 13DPO. tested yesturday and got BFN but will try again thurs or tomorrow maybe if I can't wait that long! Have had ferns for 5 days now so I'm hoping this is it and have been feeling very :barf: . Have sore BB's and feeling very crampy and AF like so with all these symptoms its hard not to get my hopes up but trying not to.....

I got two more really faint positives today already! (Ok I am going to stop testing until tomorrow - I promise!!) But I'm STILL not getting my hopes up just yet!

Pippi - what length is your cycle to be cd19 but 13dpo? That'd be a hard one to track! All those symptoms are looking pretty good at the moment and I know how hard it is to be so patient! Just try to relax and if you can get through the next 36 hours without testing then the results could be in your favour!!! :fingerscrossed:

My cycles are insane. Were always 28 days untill 3 months ago, then they became 30-38:confused: . So I Oed on around CD8 this month and im just going of 2 weeks scince then. Have resisted buying anymore so that I don't have any in the house and I can't test even if I want to. Oh Pippi - what happened to your cycles?!! Has something changed? Did you come off some kind of contraception? Have you been stressed lately? Wow they must be so hard to track! So you're 14 dpo you should get a result soon one way or the other so long as you're sure of the day that you ovulated.

Well I have some new for you!
Our small faint positive today? Well times that by 3 and we're PREGNANT!
I have done another 2 tests today with different brands (left over ones!) and each have the same *faint* line come up! I'm still going to use my maybe baby each day just to see what happens! I'm 11dpo so the line should get darker each day now. I just couldn't resist. I think I actually knew from a few days ago - can't explain it and I never believed it when people said they just knew.

DH and I sat and looked over these tests for nearly an hour tonight and we're now having a *tiny* bit of champas to celebrate! I still have a few tests left so I'll test each morning until Friday and next week I'll go to my GP for a referral.

I'll tell you - this is going to be a LOOOOOOOOOOONG 9 months! :D

As for me, I was on the pill for 10 years and came of it last Aug 2006. I had a clock work 28 day cycle for 12 months then in July I started Weight Watchers. Since then I have had these long cycles. My 14DPO comes from when the maybe baby said I Oed, so I'm guessing I just wait 2 weeks and test... SO thats today but got a BFN this morning. Was thinking I might nick up the shops and get another test. What do you rekon? What brand gave you the best result?
