Not pregnant?

Hey,

Just typed up a really long message and it didnt post for some reason, so this itme ill cut striaght to the point.

I got a call from a girl I was seeing (shes overseas) saying she isnt pregnant (:() in the past 2 weeks she had done 4 HPT 3 which said she was positive, one test at the doctors which said she was also positive. (Im only going by what she has said - i dont know if her claims are true or not)

Anyway she said she went to the hosptial and got a blood test, 3 days later she had a 2nd test and 2 days after that (today) she got her results back. saying she wasnt pregnant.

To quote what she said..
"Im not pregnant, my body is producing too much estrogen which if there is too much makes the body think its pregnant. its called a phantom pregnancy. I have to go on hormone tablets which will bring it down"

Basically im here asking if theres any truth to these claims? as everythign i've found on the net leeds me to believe estrogen lovels have nothing to do with phantom pregnancys?

is she overseas for a holiday or has she moved.....if she's moved are you worried she's saying she's not pg...but is and is lying to you.

or if she is on holidays are you worried that she made up the whole thing just to string you along:confused:

I originally met her when she was over in Australia on Holiday, she went back home to london to finish her studys and then come back out here to live perminatly (with out with out me).

I feel as if through she may have told a lil white lie about being pregnant to see how I would react, and it kinda blow up a bit too much to a point where she couldn't get out of it.

Its hard when shes on the otherside of the world, and I kinda feel bad for not beign able to trust her. but the reason I feel this way is due to things not quite addign up in my eyes. Like its little stuff, for example the other day i swear she said she had an appointment at the DR on a monday, and when monday came she said 'no it's on wednesday'.

Or little stuff like 'If it comes back that im not pregnant I dont want you to come over here" - (although this morning I got a phone call saying she wanted me to come over) .. ugghh!?

So yeah thats a brief run down on that side of things :S

Sounds like it's all a big fat lie to me and that she is looking for a way to get out of the friendship???

Very confusing. I dunno about oestrogen levels messing around with pg tests, cause the only way a home pregnancy test would show a positive is if your urine has the pregnancy hormone in it (hcG). OR she MAY have been pregnant and had a very early miscarriage - these are usually called chemical pregnancies.

I do find it odd that the hospital is so happy to immediately tell her to take some drug or something assuming that she isn't pregnant without doing any scans or whatever first? :confused:

From what I know When she left australia I remember she was bleeding, I thought it was just her period coming that day. After 2 weeks of so since she had been back in the UK, she said she was bleeding a fair bit .. and when she went to the doctor for her first visit they apaprently did an ultrasound that returned nothing as it was way to early according to her. if she was pregnant she would only be 4-6 weeks.
she said the hospital said that she was bleeding because she had some scaring (from my understanding she managed to get cut inside)

Also before she had the apaprent scan, the docor said she maybe having a thretend mis-carridge.

Finally I know she had a termination not too long ago (i think it was 4/5 months ago .. she was 4 months pregnant at the time) .
could this have anythign to do with it?

Sorry but i think she is one hell of a good liar she tells you one thing and then says another she doesn seem to kepp her story all together.

One minute the doctor is telling her its phantom the next he is telling her she might have miscarried. Sorry but it sounds like she is taking you for a ride.

People who make up stories that they are pg make me so:mad: because there is people out there wanting a baby so bad and there are the people who make it up.

Its ok, I see wher eyour comign from.. the doctor told her originally she maybe havign a thretened miss caridge and told her to sleep and relax otherwise the baby (if there is one) might miss carry.. she then booked her into the hospital.

she went to the hospital a fe days later where they did a ultra sound and a blood test and checked her out.
that same day teh ultra sound returned nothing. and the inpection said she had been bleeding because she has some scaring inside her.

a few days later she went back for a seocnd blood tets (apparently to compare the blood levels)
and when she picked her results up a few days after the second blood test, thats when they said she has too much estrogen in her body which is giving false pregnancy readings.

And this is where im ocnfused because im under the impression estrogen readyings dont do anything in regards to pregnancy results.

gees i can see why your looking into this as much as u have, as it really all sounds too weird :cool:
sounds to me is she may have some issues!

I know that the HPT pick up on HcG levels in your urine, and thats it. so i dont know how the estrogen levels could affect this. but im no doctor.

You say she had a bit of bleeding so if she was in fact pregnant she may have miscarried, unfortunately it does happen. and reason why its showing negative now.

its also pretty scary that u say shes just gone through a termination not too long ago. especially terminating so late in the pregnancy. although that part really is none of my business.

the girl obviously has a fair few problems going on, whether its medical or not who knows :confused:

Hi,
I know that dogs have Phantom pregnancies. From my understanding of the blood tests, it all has to do with the HCG hormones in your body. They can usually tell if your pregnant by that, and also if you have miscarried because the levels will slowly drop.

I think you need to ask her what the hell is going on, and ask her to scan, and e-mail you her medical results. Obviously its up to her whether or not she is honest, but if she was bleeding when you last saw her than it was either implantation bleeding...which is more like a little bit of spotting, her periods or a miscarriage. Did she do the hpt while you two were together?
