Just wondering if / how often you shampoo your 1yo hair?

Ever since DS has sat up in the bath I rarely shampoo his hair because of the painful process of washing the suds out and DS having a big sook about it.

Just wondering if shampooing is important at that age or if soapy bath water is enough? :)

Ds is 2.5 and I only wash it with shampoo after preschool. Or if it's dirty

I usually do DS hair every second day when we are in the shower ( unless he has decided to run his avocado fingers through his hair!) and have been doing so since about 4 months so he is used to it I suppose!
I do have this Elmo bucket thingy someone gave me with a rubber lip that goes over their forehead and stops water from getting in their eyes that I use when he is in the bath, not sure where you get it from though

Every 2nd or 3rd day usually....unless he rubs his food in his hair as a PP said, haha!

I just lay him down to wash the shampoo out, just like a newborn. Can't you do the same?

DS has showers usually and I wash his hair once a week, after swimming. As long as there's no food in it of course.

Very rarely. We've probably only done it a couple of times - and that's when
he rubs food in it. He doesn't really do that a lot though (prefers to rub it up his arms :p).

Almost every night. DS is a chronic food-in-hair rubber :P

We just say the same thing to him as we do at swimming when we pour water over his head, so he holds his breath and closes his eyes.

Never had an issue thank god :)

We have never shampooed our 17mo's hair. We just wash it down with a face washer and warm water in the bath. It's still fairly short and certainly feels and looks lovely, soft and clean

I shampoo DS's hair most nights for the same reason as others - he rubs his food in it alllllll the time!

I lay him on his back in the bath like an infant and squeeze water on to his hair from a face washer to rinse out the shampoo.

We've done it twice in total. She's 16 months :)
We just use the bath or shower water

We've pretty much done it every night since he was born, just cleaning hair with the same pigeon hair + body wash we use for the rest of his body. Just pushed through any complaining he did really haha.

We used it as an opportunity to get him used to water over his face so we did the whole "Name... Ready.... Gooo!" that they also do in the pool.

DD is 13months and we wash everyday, sometimes twice, she always rubs food though her hair. She has only been in the big bath for a month and has already learned to put her head back as I rinse so the soap doesnt go in her eyes!

DS1 is 22 months old and DS2 is 14 weeks. Everytime they have a bath their hair gets washed. Unless DS1 has been unwell and is really sooky.

Every second day for dd. we use a soap an sulphate free shampoo and conditioner and find it doesn't need doing more often

About twice/wk - always after swimming lessons and after a dirty meal that got in her hair (or if I smell that it's dirty)
Maybe a bit more than that lately actually because it gets oily looking from sunscreen on her face/hands every day
