Got the ever elusive BFP this week after 8 cycles (since January) and so I thought I'd share what I did differently just in case it helps someone else. Maybe others with a BFP would like to do the same...

Different:
DH took zinc for the first time
I took Elevit for the second month
Slept badly for the first two weeks making it the longest cycle I've ever had (didn't O until day 25)
Took a holiday from 3DPO to 13DPO in which I didn't temp, or remember to take my vitamins (the latter wasn't deliberate though, I just plain forgot!)
BD'ed 3 days before, 1 day before, day of, and day after O
After BD turned around and put my feet up on the wall and read my book for 15 min while DH showered, then got up, went to the loo and showered.
Worried less (can't really claimed not to have worried, there were still some tears shed in worry in the TWW!)

What I tried in previous months but not this month -
drinking green tea regularly
evening primrose oil
going to sleep straight after bd without getting up

Good luck everyone, I hope BFP's surprise you all in the near future. :hugs:

that's a great idea little fish - it is good to read what happened the cycle of a BFP eg. what you did, took and symptoms leading up to a BFP. keep it coming everyone!
I can't remember much about when I got BFP with my two kids i just remember the feeling that AF was coming but it didn't and only getting a BFP day Af was due. I didn't temp or use OPK's.

Great idea little fish! I'll share mine too...

Month of BFP- made love with a pillow under my butt to keep my pelvis tilted
- didnt put feet up in air afterwards but just tilted pelvis for another 10mins
- vitex, folate, multivitamin and garlic capsule daily
- continued testing with OPK's even AFTER I thought I should have already O'd
- listened to what I thought was ovulation pain - and I was right!
- Hubby was home at the RIGHT time
- pretty much gave up on being pg and decided it would be our last month of TTC

Previous months of BFN
- didn't til pelvis or do pillow thing
- not continue OPK testing after CD16 (I o'd this time on CD20)
- vitex, folate ONLY (no other vitamins)
- stress, stress, stress

Congratulations! That is such awesome well deserved news.

Thanks for sharing your tips! This about our 10th month and 7th month of charting ... this is the 1st month it has really gotten to me for some reason. I had a HSG done and heaps of bloods, DH had a test done and we got the all clear on everything. So I guess it's just a waiting game.

I am starting herbs this month .... so here's hoping :fingerscrossed: Otherwise we go back to the specialist in Feb next year to start Clomid and IUI.

I am sooo happy for you and your DH :smiliedance: Best of luck!

May you have a great pregnancy and easy birth :smiliedance:

What I did differently both times I have conceived is bd during the day. With dd it was in the morning after almost 2 years of trying. This pregnancy it was in the afternoon after about 10 months of trying. So to me this can't be coincidence! Also this month I gave up on OPKs because I never seemed to get a clear positive, instead I relied soley on CM.

Congrats Little Fish! Great thread too. What I did differently the month I got my BFP was:

BD'd in the morning of O day
Said "next month we aren't trying"
When I did conceive, it was a sneaky BD that we had. I thought I O'd a week before so it was just one of those "cos we wants to" ones.

Congratulations little fish!

Well here is what i did differently, probably not what you would expect.
- Truely did not believe it would be my month
- O occured the night my dad left, after a 4 week stay. Bd at 2.00am when he FINALLY left.
- Took the next night of work to recover and bd for fun.
- Had a couple of glasses of wine few days after O and the following weekend.
-Acted as if i wasn't pregnant at work, ie lifted properly, but before i was being gentle and sliding boxes instead of lifting.
- Decided if this month i was pg, we were going to stop trying and maybe go back on the pill for awhile
Added info
- Bought heaps of AF products and new knickers
- started to tone my tummy
- tried to cut back on fat and sugar

Good luck to all.

Excellent idea!!

What we did this month......

Took folate every day
BD the day before and after O
Was busy at work and didn't have the time to focus on TTC
Made extra time for BDing just because (hard because DH was working a month of late shifts!)
Relaxed and was quite convinced that this month wasn't it...was ok with it and just waiting for AF when I got my :bfp:

Babydust to everyone

OMG - I found this thread really interesting, so have bumped it up today!

What I/we did this month

Took temps every morning so I could see when O happened (also helped my work out my short LP)
After CD 8, did OPKs twice a day every day until I got a faint positive (yes, I didn't O til CD37 this last time, so that's a lot of OPKs!) but it was only way I could work out O date with such long cycles.
Had sex every two days from roughly when I thought o might be (for me this month it was CD28)
Once I saw faint positive on OPK, BD'd every day until day after temp rise (which was different from last months where we stopped on day, no idea if that made the difference)
Gave up altoegther on Maybe Baby - confused the dalylights out of me and showed too much ovulation! Expensive mistake.
On advice from a friend (watch out, TMI), made sure I did not ahem 'enjoy myself' too much during the course of BDing. The theory being, the less clenching the better!
Sat with legs up in air for 20mins and more each time (longer than other times) but not so far up in the air as other times - more a tilting of the pelvis!
Drank lots of green tea, took the folic (have been taking for about 12 months now!). Stopped taking Vitex (didn't seem to be having any effect).
Tried to have fun and enjoy Bding (last few months it has been far too much of a chore)And that just about covers it I think!
