Hi everyone, I am interested to know what you all feed your LO's for lunch?
My DS is 12 months old and doesn't like sandwiches or toast at the moment. I am very keen on him eating these though as he can feed himself these as otherwise i've been spoon feeding him baby food bought from the shops which I'm not to keen on continuing. Do I keep trying with the sandwiches? Did your LO like them immediately or did you keep introducing them? If I keep on with them he just plays with it so doesn't eat much at lunch.
I hope that all makes sense, I am extremely sleep deprived!! Thanks :)

My baby is 10 months old and LOVES finger food. Some of the things I give him for lunch are small pieces of avocado, cherry tomatoes cut in half, ham, pasta, banana, mandarin segments cut in half, pieces of pear, grapes cut in half, small cubes of cheese, cruskits with vegemite, watermelon etc. He doesn't really like sandwiches so much either.
My DS is the same, he's never liked sandwiches (he's 13mths) a few months back he gave them a good go at eating them but then suddenly he stop eating them. He absolutely loves the junior cheese sticks made by bega and I can't seem to sway him from them so i give him crackers and fruit with them. I have made pumpkin soup (now that it's getting cold) he loved that so I'm going to make a big batch of chicken, veg and lentil soup to stick up on in the freezer.
I'm at a loss too, I need some inspiration.
He also doesn't like things such as nuggets and fish fingers so there is no quick dinners in our house, he would devour a roast and any day and loves stir fry too, anything meat and veg he loves.
nice piece of crumpet

Yup! All this! Pasta is great for them to feed them selves. Get the bigger shaped ones like penne, spirals or coloured bow ties which are dd's favourite! I just mix with a jar of pasta sauce and cheese on top!
Dd also likes cream cheese on almost anything - rice cakes, savoys, cruskits.
Dd likes to eat bananas by herself, I just peal it a little and she holds it and does the rest. She also just started munching into whole apples.
Ive made some mini vegie pasties with a hint of curry powder and dd devours them with some tomato sauce ;)
Baked beans , spaghetti for a quick alternative. Dd likes to dip her bread into the sauce lol
I also made little cheese and bacon scones and froze them. So all I have to to is microwave them and smear with a little butter.
Little chippolata sausages
Hot chips cooked in the oven with gravy.
I did persist with sandwiches only because they r great to take with us if we r going out somewhere. I alternate what I put in them and also stopped cutting into little squares as she ate them when I cut in 4 . Some fillings I use are, cream cheese and tomato, vegiemite and cheese, ham n cheese, ham n pickles, peanut butter, avocado.
Hope that helped;)

Try making homemade nuggets - chicken or I made salmon , or fish cakes , zuchini slice in mini muffin tins is also good at that age , they are great finger foods and healthy , add as many herbs/veggies as you can!

Hi! Im not a fan of switching to commercial cows milk ( no iron, hard to digest plus much more!) so i kept my DS in his goat formula until I thought he was getting the right amount of nutrients from his food, he is now 18 months and sometimes still has 200ml at night, I did start giving him organic goats milk or A2 milk in his cereal from 12 months or Almond or Quinoa milk in his smoothies , you just have to find what suits you and your family and it's important at this age to give him a wide variety of foods :)
