View Full Version : found a 9cm endomitrioma cyst ony left ovarie!
I am 26 yrs old and my husband and i were trying only for 2 months but my terrible period cramps told me some thing was wrong!
Sure enough after 2 months of terrible tests, ultrasounds and waiting for specialist appointments im finally getting booked for a lap to remove my 9cm endometrioma cyst from my left ovary.
No one can tell me if the endo is through out my whole pelvic region until i have surgery and i have to wait till June for that!
i defiantly ovulate and am not allowed to ttc until i have the cyst removed. i guess im just finding it really hard to deal with and am wondering if any one else out there has a similar story? and if you have gone on to conceive?
Baby dust to all of you..........:fingerscrossed::babydust1:
Not sure if I'll be much support or comfort but this is my story! Basically since I got my periods at 14 I always had pain! Drs kept saying its a tummy bug, appendix etc! I had a laporoscopy in 2007 which showed nothing! In June last yr I went to a new GP who sent me for an ultrasound, bloods and urine! It came back that I have 2 endometrioma cyst on my Left Ovary and 2 follicular cyst on the right! The two on the right have since disappeared but the two on the left remain, growing slightly! They are just over 2cm each so much smaller than yours, and they give me so much grief around my periods! I'm usually on Panadine Forte for these! The dr states due to painful periods, low libido and painful intercourse it was likely that I would have endometriosis! They booked me in for a laporoscopy and I was told that there was a possibility they would take the ovary!
The surgery was cancelled and a new date set which was 3 days before our wedding! So I cancelled! In January I has excruciating pain and the thought my cyst was twisted Cutting off supply to my ovary, the scan was all cleared but had pain for another week! Had surgery scheduled 2 weeks later! Dr told us falling pregnant would be near impossible!
Happy to say a few days prior to my surgery I got my BFP! The dr and all the ultrasound technicians are amazed! Additionally they are hoping that the pregnancy sorts my issues out!
So although I'm in a very different situation, we got a beautiful baby on the way and we weren't really trying! We just weren't being careful. I still get my pains and have had some bleeding which they think was from my cyst! And a little interesting thing we found out is, the dr spoke about removing my left ovary and this is the ovary that we conceived from!
Only 24yrs old and 14 weeks pregnant!!
Hi Sarah thank you for sharing and congratulations :cheerleader2::cheerleader1:
I hope to share a similar story how ever my doctor wants me on bc till my surgery in 2 months. Do you think i should skip the bc and just see what happens? my specialist did tell me the only reason not to get pregnant is so i don't have a premature baby. What are your thoughts??
I guess we decided what was best for us! I wasn't on BC as I suffer migraines and the risk of stroke is increased whilst on the Pill!
We were under the impression that it was likely that in surgery they may take the left ovary and quiet possibly the right if it appeared bad! We thought if we tried and the took everything, we could say we tried and failed! We also talked about storing eggs too! Our Dr wanted us to wait but we did what we thought was best and just stopped "not trying". My Gynae, regular GP and even my Obstetrician for the pregnancy are not worried about premature birth.
My cysts are a lot smaller though! If your not sure perhaps get a second opinion or decide what is best for you!!
Really praying whatever you do, leads you to a healthy baby!! :)
Great advice i feel! Thank you so much you have given me lots to consider and i feel that if it happens in the next 2 months then its meant to be.
Thanks again you have given me such hope!!!
Good luck with your pregnancy and keep me updated! i know if i am successful you will be hearing from me :)
Wanted to say Congratulations!! Hoping you have a beautiful sticky bub!! :)
Thank you soo much!!!! I cant believe it! TAKE THAT ENDO!!!!:celebrate:
How are you going now?????
How did you go with your surgery nic26?
I was in the same situation 9x6x5.5 endometrioma on left ovary, ended up having the laparoscopic then laparotomy surgery in mid April! Surgery was a bit full on but I feel good now and am glad it's all over with and no pain :D
af didn't arrive till June 6th and I had a bleed straight after surgery which is normal and now we are ttc! Waiting on af to come and was due today but nothing yet, going to test today! :fingerscrossed:
Good luck to you with ttc!
