Please post hear on your experiences :)

There are any number of positive experiences in the other thread in amongst all the anguish.

I had two fantastic csections- bth due to transverse lie and the second one was placenta praevia as well. The surgery was fine, I felt totally involved both times and my ob and the theatre staff were fantastic. Recovery was uneventful and I was walking the next morning and off pain killers by day 3 both times. The down side was the yukky nausea from the pain killers in the IV (but you can have this from an epidural as well, so maybe it wasn;t just cos of the csection).

The only after effect is a slightly numb tummy and a scar - but hey, I was never a bikini model in the first place!! And if it wasn't for csections neither I nor my twolittleones would be here.

This is a great idea Sarah, thanks for thinking of it.
My actually c/section was good. Nick was with me and he told me the sex of our child, the staff were fantastic and I got to hold Harry seconds after birth. I took nothing more than Panadol for pain relief and was up and walking the next day. The midwives encouraged me, but didn't push me, to get up and walk as much as possible and this helped heaps. I was driving the next week and taking Harry to mother's group when he was only 8 days old.
My scar is below my bikini line and no one will ever see it. I do have some numbness and when I get really tired or done a lot during the day, I get a little discomfort from the area where my spinal block was put. Other than that I have no other ill effects from it.
My choice to have a c/section was easy, because of how Harry was lying and with the cord around his neck it was a no brainer to have a c/section...I wanted a live child. I now tell people that Harry was a required c/section cause he got his ups and outs mixed up.
If I had to same choice again......I would do it excately the same.

I had a very happy c section just over 4 weeks ago. I was induced at 7pm in good strong labour by 11pm and things were going well until 9am when after what seemed like months of pushing the OB decided it was time to try a little harder. He tried suction twice to no avail and it was all very scary. He then told me I would need to go in for a CS I was scared but I wanted my baby out! Everyone was really great and encouraging, they looked after me really well and before I knew it I was seeing the screen lowered to look at my new baby boy. I had an epidural half way through the night so that was just pumped up for the operation. The problem was his head was just too big. He ended up with a whopping haematoma on his little head which has just gone away in the last few days. I am feeling great, still get a little sore when DS decides to have an active day and kicks my belly all day long or scratches the scar with his sharp little toe nails but nothing that I can't handle. The epidural stayed in for 24 hours slowly being turned down it was great! I feel I have experienced enough of both deliveries that if my OB suggests next time that I need to start with a CS I will have no problems agreeing to it.

I had a great c/section too with my first daughter. My recovery was excellent and i think that has to do with state of mind and the support you receive My OB was great as was the staff, my family and friends were also excellent.

I think the majority of births in the end are positive experiences - look at the end product - how could it not be positive.

I had a great C Section 4 weeks ago today. i was 10 days overdue and Jazmyn's head still wasn't engaged so i was booked in for an induction i was induced they started the induction at 4 pm on the tuesday and by 5pm on monday i was contracting but wasn't dialating and everytime i contracted Jazmyn decided that my ribs would be a comfortable place to wait it out. by 5:30 the doctors decided that i should have a c section i was scared outta my mind but the doctors and nurses were great and at 6:15 on wednesday night Jazmyn was in my arms. it was a great experience and i will opt for a c section next time :D
