Hi all,
Hubby's s.a. results just arrived. The doctor said it all looked good, but hubby didn't have much confidence in him. Can you tell me what you think? I don't know what all the abbreviations mean so I'll copy exactly...
Volume 2.5ml
Conc. 238
Prog. Motility 52%
Total motility 66%
Tot. Mit. Conc. 392.7
Abnormal forms 89% (doc said this is slightly high but not cause for concern)
pH 7.9
Alive 75%
WBC 0
We have an appointment with a fs on 1st May since this is our 11th cycle and I'm 30, but we just wanted your opinion. Hubby is taking Menevit and has been for about 3 months.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Angelini,
I can never remember the numbers but our results had Husb's numbers and then the reference point numbers so we could compare.
I also did some googling and found the World Health Organisation had some great info and also gave "average" and "infertile" numbers for fertility which helped me work out how far away we were. Maybe do some googling and see what you can learn. Us poor girls have so much to do!!!!
Good luck, I hope the numbers are good!

Thanks both! It's hard doing any real research since we moved recently and our 'net isn't connected yet. From those numbers it does seem OK ... less than a month til fs appointment so I'm trying not to even think of it now... much easier said than done.
Thanks again!!

that looks like a great result to me :)
will just run through what I know about SA's:
Volume 2.5ml (over 1.5ml is classed normal)
Conc. 238 (I assume this had x10^6 written beside it, if so means he has 238 MILLION sperm per ejacualtion)
Prog. Motility 52% (over 32% is classed as normal)
Total motility 66% (over 40% is classed as normal)
Tot. Mit. Conc. 392.7 (not sure on mit? so can't help)
Abnormal forms 89% (over 3% normal is considered normal, so your DH has 11% which is great)
pH 7.9 (over 7.2 is normal)
Alive 75% (not sure)
WBC 0 (not sure again)
So overall you DH has above average results and you should be very happy with this result.
the 'classed as normal' numbers I used are from the pathology report my DH's SA got which is based on WHO (world health org) standards.
