Hello everyone.

I recently found out I am pregnant again (:bfp:6 wks) after terminating my last pregnancy two months ago (baby had severe abnormalities). I'm excited at the prospect of having another baby, but very concerned and afraid that I may go through what I did two months ago(there's a 1 in 4 chance of it happening again). Has anyone experienced anything like this, and went on to having a healthy baby? Also, when I sleep at night and roll over to my side I get a sharp pain that travels from my belly button down- does this sound common during pregnancy?

Your feedback is much appreciated.
Thankyou.
:)

Hi,
I cannot say I can give you any feedback. But I would like to say congratulations and that your fears are understandable. However, every pg is diff and you have to try to be positive, I believe a good frame of mind is vital in pg. I had all sorts of pains in my tum in the first 10 weeks (kept thinking I was going to get AF or MC-but i never did - I have a healthy 14 month old and another due in a month or so). So try be positive, it must be hard.

Good luck and I hope you find the advice you are after.

Just wanted to send you some support - my situation is kinda the same but also majorly different.. DD was born with a congenital abnormality, they told us it's a 1 in 25 chance it will happen with the next child. He was born with no abnormality. I was anxious throughout the pregnancy - but someone told me to look at it in a "glass half full" way.
You have a 1 in 4 chance of the severe problem happening again - but that means you have a 3 in 4 chance of it NOT happening. Think of it like that. Good luck for your pregnancy :hugs:

Thank you ladies for your replies :hugs: ; I'm feeling alot better. I will endeavour to stay positive for the next 10 or so weeks and look at it as a 3 to 4 chance of my baby being healthy. Hopefully at my 16-18week scan it will be revealed that I am carrying a healthy baby :fingerscrossed: and that I am able to proceed to full-term.

Best of luck on your impending birth Sara.:hugs:
