Just wondering how many people here have been told by their in-laws that they are a good mummy or daddy?
My sister and I were discussing it today, she has and I haven't.
Complete strangers and carers have but no in-laws lol.
My family does all the time too.

Yes I have, but my MIL is a great lady too.
Nope and doesn't bother me in the slightest but if I thought they were any good themselves I might think
differently.

I have been told by my dad a lot that I am a good mum. Mil said it once but didn't sound 100% convinced. She has different ways of doing things, so i don't really mind.

Yes by parents and MIL
My MIL has told me loads of times that I am a good mother, that I'm a natural, but she was a terrible mother when my husband was young and she doesn't relate to small children well.

My mil, praise me? You have got to be kidding. Nobody is as good as she is or her daughters are. I am just the one that supported her and took her to hospital when I thought she was sick (she was very ill, despite her protests) and does an awesome job of maintaining a relationship between her and my kids. Her kids hate her, but somehow are the ones worthy of praise.
My dh has been told by my mother what a good daddy he is. My mum has said that she wishes my dad was more like my dh when I was little.

My IL's are so pathetic it's actually hilarious.
My mum, dad and step parents tell us all the time. Especially my step dad. He's awesome.

Cant be any worse than them!

LoL I think that's rare. My mum has told me that I'm doing a great job. Everyone else tells me what I'm doing
"wrong" or what I should change.

Not really. She tells everyone else I'm a good mother, but not me. She finds fault in me all the time. Yet she always tells me how smart DS is and how she's amazed at what he can do, and I'm thinking That's because I teach him!!!
I have by my family, but don't think so by the inlaws. Don't think it's really their style to pay compliments.
MIL? No but she has told me I am a negligent mother  Ahem I was not the mum who left their 6 week old baby with 2 18 year old girls to go on a 2 week break with my husband.
My mum has never said i'm a good mum either but she has said ex-h is a great dad. I've had lots of friends tell me i'm a good mum though.

Nope never, or even by my own parents!
Not by my 'In-laws'.
But my grandmother told my mum that I was a good mother to DD. She then said she was surprised I was a such a good mum because I wasn't interested in looking after my cousins at all when they were born.
Ummmm, maybe because I was 4...

Lol for my mil too say that too me I would have to parent HER way and raise spoilt brats who get everything and I mean everything handed to them - don't realist that they have to work in the world to get things!! And actually not treat ppl with respect!! This is how she said a parenting is done!!! Hmmm yeah ok!! You think that but I'm doing it my way !!!
And because of this she judges and looks down on everything I do!!! My mum and dad have told me to
Ignore her cause I'm a fantastic mother :) and Bil has also said that I am too :)

I've been told from both parents and in laws that I'm a good mum. But I seriously doubt that sometimes.

My SIL has but I don't think it's something my MIL would say whether she thought it or not. She's very old fashioned and often judgmental mine and dh's parenting methods sometimes. An example is she thinks it's wrong that we don't give ds sugary foods that often :gonnagetit: Don't think she means to come across as difficult, just a generation thing I think. My mum unfortunately isn't here to tell me I'm a good mum but I know she would if she was here, my sister tells me though and I know I am!
