DD (almost 16m) has started leaking through her nappy at night quite regularly. I'm not sure how to stop this. She's in a toddler size nappy that is meant to go up to 15kg and she's only 11.5kgs. If I put her in a bigger nappy it's too loose and she leaks anyway. I don't really want to wake her up and change her nappy during the night. She has a bottle before bed but apart from that, not excessive amounts of water in the late afternoon/evening. Any ideas?

I always end up starting the bigger sized nappies for night times before day times. I've heard of people putting two nappies on - one over the other. She might look a lite bit michelin man but you could give it a try!

DS worn a 15-25kg nappy since he was 14kg. He is a super pee'er.
For day I use cloth nappies, but I couldnt find a cloth one to keep him dry at night.
Now I have 2 nappies on him. The first one I poke little holes in the outer plastic layer. Than I put another nappy over it. So the excess urine drains from the first nappy into the second.

I have been doing this for 7 months now, and it works.

DD2 is 12kg but i use a 'junior' size nappy overnight as it holds more.

might seem like a silly question - but does she sleep on her tummy and that's how it leaks??
The position of most nappies for girls is straight down - where's as the most absorbent part for boys is at the front - so if she's on her tummy and leaking - might consider trialing a boy's nappy for night time to catch the pee.

Just a thought ...

That's what we do for DD, she's a tummy sleeper, and will leak out the front and legs of her nappy by morning otherwise... Now I just buy a bag of boy Huggies in the same size as her day ones, and use them at night... Good luck!

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions! She is a tummy sleeper so I'll give the boys nappies a go.

Great to hear that the boys nappies worked - can't remember where I got that tip from but my boy was the only one out of 8 girls at mothers group - they got a few free samples off me to try when they were having the same problem and they haven't looked back!!
