I'm really getting sick of memberships and entries to places saying a family is 2 or occasionally 3 children. We have FOUR and tho at this stage Savannah gets in free the things i want last for a year and want me paying for her after her birthday so why not just do it now?
But why do i have to pay extra 'per child' for a FAMILY MEMBERSHIP
my family has 6 in it, therefor family entry/membership should cover 6 for us... if your family has 10 it should cover the 10... if its got 3... it covers 3 and so on..
i just dont think its fair they can call it a family entry or membership for anything and then it only cover 'small families'
Sorry just needed to have a whinge
Most of the them only include two children too which makes it even more frustrating! Don't they want us all going to there places to spend our money? If they make it cost to much to get in we dont bother going!!

I share your pain. It is rediculous!! Two adults + three children = "Standard family" :banghead:
Maybe we need to cut a family member out, DH maybe ? :p
I wonder how those families feel with 5 + children though. Look on the bright side, atleast we only have to pay for one extra where they'll need to pay for a few extras.
It does need to be changed, somehow.

:ecomcity: DH and I have talked about this before. How we get a long with five kids and two adults to take out? But we did come up with an answer. Sometimes we can take my Mum and Dad with us and the can claim some of the kids as their own
My parent's use to complain about this as there were 5 of us I am from the dark ages yanno so I was the "extra" I often thought to myself "family tickets" should be based on how many there are not just and average! people are having more kids these days..well I hope to !

I totally agree!!! I was thinking about this the other day actually.
We have a family membership at the pool, which covers all 5 of us. But if we are to go to the movies (which never ever happens), a family pass will only cover 4 of us. In my eyes, a family is a family, we aren't a family with a spare child.

EXACTLY right, thats what bugs me about it... GRRR
stupid places make me so angry lol its not the paying extra that really bothers me its the fact they dont class as a a family cos theres 'so many' of us

isn't the government encouraging larger "families" so why don't they recognise those of us who have more than the 2.5 average family???? We are lucky at the moment that we only have to pay for one "extra" as bubs is too small but I know I am unsure how we will be able to afford alot of things once he is bigger...plus soon dd will be a teenager and then its often classed as another adult!!! arrrrgh...no more family outings then!!!

ohhhhhhh thats another whinge too about a teenager being classed as an adult, thats ridiculous!!!!!!!
The government should do something about it... make a family ticket actually mean 'family' not '2 adults and 2 children'
HI  I only have 2 kids myself, so don't have this prob...but I am the eldest of 5 kids and I remember my mum calling places they were thinking about taking us all on school hols and asking them about family passes. Most of them were 2 adults and 3kids...so mum argued with them til she got us all in for the family rate :yelclap: It didn't work for all the places, but lots of them it did...then once she got told she could take us all in on the family rate she went to RACQ and got the tickets using the discount they have for some places.
I was 10yrs old when my brother (the youngest) was born, so by the time they had to start paying for him I was considered an adult by most places...lots of times we just didn't tell the places how old I was, depending on the place we went.
i was just talking about this too. my friend just went over to fiji and we were talking about saving up and going next near near xmas time (it'll take me that long to save!)
but the package she got was for 2 adults and 2 children. well there will be 6 of us, so will also have to pay the extra.
most families (im not saying all) but they have more than 2 kids. there really should be more options!!
Absolutely! I'll sign for it.
They say they want us to increase Australia's population, well why then don't they make Australia welcome these extra children with open arms!

I went to Healesville Sanctaury a couple of weeks ago and noticed that they have family passes for two adults and 2, 3 or 4 children. Prices varied, but I took note because it's one of our fav places to visit, and we're planning to expand beyond three!!
Maybe the message is starting to get out to some of the smaller places, and then bigger places will have no choice but to follow!!

I sure hope so! They really need family passes no matter the family size though, they may lose out a bit on admission fees to some places but when you're in there I'm sure they'll make up for it as theres things to buy everywhere and the more ppl the more you're buying.
Considering the government wants us to have one child for the mum, one child for the dad, and one for the country, i think they should regulate it that "family" memberships are just that, for the whole family
