View Full Version : Your thoughts on maybe the routine circumcision should be encouraged and mandatory.

New studies suggest a lower prostate cancer percentage in men who are circumcised before their first sexual encounter.

Lower prostate cancer combined with a reduced incidence of HPV being transmitted and other health benefits, could this be an indication that as a society we might need to call for circumcision as a surgical vaccine, perhaps not RIC straight after birth but perhaps sometime months later.

Your thoughts please, on whether circumcision should be encouraged and mandatory and maybe your experiences.

No I don't believe it should be mandatory. The study does not conclusively prove causality, merely an association (according to some expert).

There are many other ways to lower your risk of prostate cancer that have overall health benefits, I think we should be pushing for these lifestyle changes instead.

Pfft I don't have boys and the thought of 'pushing' these stupid pharmacutical money making schemes makes me cringe...

This is surely a joke thread right. Bodily autonomy blah blah. Come on Circangel, you've hung around bubhub long enough to know that no one would support mandatory circ. Ridiculous.

i love that your links are 'msn' and 'yahoo' :p um, but no, those studies have pretty dodgy 'proofs' and i certainly don't believe they are enough proof.

but making them mandatory?:highfive: funny.

Mandatory, not a chance, my son's penis is his own and until he is of an age where he is able to make choices like whether or not he wants to remove his foreskin then I do nothing. He can always have it removed as an adult he can't have it put back on.

Lol, if you tried to make it mandatory I think there would be riots and disobedience. There's no way a govt would touch it.

And lots of those studies are from Africa where condom use is much lower than here.

I really dont feel that the PRO circ area of the forum is the correct place for this, since you have ASKED for feedback and opinions. If you truly want feedback you will post in the discuss this area of the forum.

Having said that - there is no way I would allow anyone to remove any part of my child unless its medically necessary .. if vaxing isn't mandatory, why on EARTH would circ be??? I love the fact that we live in a country where we have CHOICES regarding how we parent..

my father was circed at birth, yet had to have his prostate removed last year .. so going by our family history, its a fail ...

Due to this thread being in the PRO circ area, but receiving such a 'discuss it' type response .. I'll close it now ..

thanks y'all
