I'm am, and have been for about 4 years now.
You get a membership card which enables you to get discounts at various places & for excursions to zoos, museums etc. They also have lists of different groups in different areas and their contact details. You receive a monthly home education newsletter as well.
You can also get discounted membership to readingeggs, mathletics, skirk etc through them.
I've always got more than my money back in discounts.
Hope that helps :cheerleader1:
Its a national organisation, run by volunteers, homeschooling parents just like us. They do have a 1300 no you can call for assistance re:home ed issues. They have a quarterly magazine, annual resource directory, regular newsletters plus subscription discounts so you get quite a bit for the money and you are supporting an organisation that supports home ed nationally. If you organise home ed events and are a member of HEA you are covered by insurance (if you register your event with them, an easy process), plus they can sponsor activities that you run in your community.
do you have any specific questions?
