OK, recieved some more pockets in the mail and I have tried stuffing with folded terry flats but they are soo darn bulky! What else is good? The pockets I got are cheecky butts they have a hemp booster sewn in but it's only thin:confused: some one said that I can use that on it's own??? How would that work? Wouldn't it be too thin??
I am so  What does everyone else use? I would really like to use what I have here (terry flats) but if I need to buy something else then so be it.
HELP PLEASE!!!

When you look at a hemp booster your first thought is," How is THAT going to absorb everything and NOT leak?"
I know this was my first reaction BUT, they DO absorb everything! Unbelievably this thin layer of funny fabric does the job.
If I am going out for a while, I'll add either a 2nd hemp layer or a folded flannel square.
Give it a try and see what happens!:D

How many times have you washed the nappy? Hemp takes quite a few washes (I think around 10) to reach it's maximum absorbancy;)
Someone correct me if I am wrong with the amount of washes;) I always washed my hemp products at least 7 times before using.

I stuff alot of mine with a flannalette nappy. You can pick them up at Kmart & target

you can also cut the terry squares in half and use them folded up that way :)

I do the same  You can usually packs of 6 flannelette flats for about $12 at target. The way I fold mine gives 12 layers of fabric, and even using my really old & well used nappies I can leave the nappy on DD for 4 or 5 hrs if I need to without it leaking...she fell asleep on the loungeroom floor one day and was in the same nappy for close to 5hrs without leaks. If I know she is going to sleep I usually put microfibre in as well, just in case.

I think I may take the idea of some one else and cut my terry flats in half and fold them. I just find that the whole terry flat folded and stuffed inside makes it way too bulky and she has trouble sitting because of it.... looks rather funny actually poor little chicken trying to balance on a mass of material under her butt..lol.
Thanks for your help girls.
I must say, I was thinking the same thing, that folded squares are likely to be pretty bulky and not really that absorbent. Cotton is NOT as absorbent as hemp and bamboo, which are both quite trim for the amount the absorb.
I would suggest a microfibre booster as the top layer and a bamboo fold up/small hemp prefold as the bottom layer. the booster (you could even use a face washer) will absorb moisture quickly, and spread it along the length of the main booster.
