Hey all
Im currently 40+4 weeks pregnant and so far havent had any signs that labour is near. But today i feel like I have more energy, have heavy discharge (no show though), and longer BH contractions. Are these signs labour is coming? i hope they are as I want the baby to come out before I have to be induced. Any help would be great!!!

Could be. I found with my first son (I was induced for the second), that the night before my waters broke I had the best nights sleep for a long time.
With my second son I'd been having contractions for 3 days, but nothing really happened. The first time I went in to hospital I was only 1cm they told me to go home I wasn't in labour. Two days later I went back to be induced.
If you try going for some walks, get up and move around a bit, it's s'posed to help get labour going.
Good luck!!! :)

Could very well be a sign. The night before my son was born I was down on my hands and knees scrubbing the kitchen floor and that's not something I generally do ... pregnant or otherwise!
Wishing you a beautiful labour ... and a healthy mum and bub at the end of the process!
Cheers,

Yeh for sure they could be signs. :) I know when I was like 37 weeks I was looking for signs everyday desparete to have my baby out!
I had none...went to bed at 40+3 and woke up to a sharp pain. Went to the toilet and my waters broke on the way to our ensuite. Then I had lots of Jelly like discharge (sorry disgusting I know but all natural..)
My waters and the jelly stuff were greenish so I called the hopsital and had to go in straight away as my baby had passed meconium (opened his bowels) which can cause fetal distress.
Labour is not as bad as some people make out. I had a tough labour and I can say that honestly it wasnt that bad.
Best of luck with it all. If you need someone to chat to my email is monyfelix27@hotmail. com

Well Im now 40+6 weeks, and I havent gone into labour yet so maybe all them things weren't signs. I feel really horrible today tired and very fluey (god I hope I don't get the flu now) so thats the opposite of nesting, can that be a pre-labour sign??? Still have fairly heavy discharge and BH constantly but not painful. I do hope something happens as Im booked in for induction on Monday.
Just another Question as my bubs head isn't engaged will it drop before labour or can it drop in labour???
Well hope something happens as Im sick of waiting!!!

Well.....Nothing as yet, Im now 41weeks and feeling very fluey, sore and tired (even though I got 10hrs sleep), just waiting for this to be over, so i can see my baby.
Oh well got 3 days until induction so hopefully something will happen!!!! :o

Hello
Just wanted to say good luck and that I am reading your post with a "I know how you feel" smile. I went 10 days over (went the day before the induction was booked) - I was furious but it was all forgotten when I held my precious DD for the first time - not long now!

Any woman scrubbing walls is so close to birth but floors are better for optimal foetal positioning ;) Most first time mamas in Australia go to about 41+3. The 40 week mark is only an ESTIMATED due date and about 5% of babies come then. A term baby is 38-42 weeks so your baby is right on target. No such thing as late unless they had a train to catch LOL. If you were in France you wouldn't be considered cooked, they say gestation lasts 41 weeks. It's certainly a closer estimate than 40 weeks! I hope you have a lovely birth!

Hi i just wanted to post saying i totally understand! :D Jayden was 10 days overdue and he was induced. I remember the feeling of every pain and every little change and i thought it was it. I also remember waking up on the day of induction and feeling like well this is the last day of this long wait. Im sure everything will go great and hopefully your little one will come earlier than the induction arrives. I hope it all goes well and let us know how everything goes.
