What have you said to your 3 year old that has now come back to haunt you?

In our house it is "Mummy, co-operate with me" in a 'cross' voice when I don't give in to what he wants!

My 3yo often tells me "mummy, be quiet" or "mummy, stop being naughty!" (he must get naughty from tv as I don't use it). He uses a serious tone, and frowns slightly.

3 seems to be a very impressionable age. Occasionally, he exlaims "Jesus!". God knows where he picked that up from...

'Mum, i just need some peace and quiet' is a popular one these days.

The worst thing I've said that comes back to me A LOT now is:

"Because I can" :hair:

I muttered to my 3 y/o "too bad so sad" when she was complaining that she didnt want to eat what I had prepared for her.

Now whenever my 1 y/o is having a whinge Miss 3 pipes up with "too bad so sad".

My almost three year old will make talking motions with her hands and go "all I hear is blah blah blah".

DS 2 years + DD 1 year + bellybean = the reason my heart keeps on beating <3

Excuse my ignorance, but what do you mean by hovering? Just curious, as I've not heard that term in relation to language

Not what I have said to her, but since starting Kindy I am unable to focus on something else while DD1 dribbles random crap at me. If I do attempt to even look away from her, she will tell me "You need to look at me when I am talking, you need to concentrate and listen"..which is an issue coz she NEVER stops talking!!

Lol in our house it is usually "mummy you need to look at my eyes when I talk to you" hahaha

If I pull up my jeans or anything like that dd asks me if I have to go to the toilet... She's toilet training at the moment! Ahhhhhhh 2 year olds :)

When dd gets out of the bath I tell her to " shake shake shake wiggle wiggle wiggle" to get the excess water of her, now when I get out of the shower she demands I do the same thing :)

I often get "Mummy do you want a timeout" from DS. Such a funny but yet cheeky age.

DS doesn't really repeat any words, jst the tone. I say 'Beeeen' and he goes 'muuuuum'

My cousin in laws 4 yr old daughter told her 'oh mum, go to your room, your doing my head in' cheeky but so funny!!!

Hehe funny what some of the children are saying back to us.

Can't really think of anything my son is getting from me, but he is getting stuff from daycare. Eg 'stop I don't like it", "sshh my friends are sleeping", then if I'm not looking at him and listening he'll come up to me and either get in my face or use his hands to look at me

Hayden is 2, and repeats every single thing we say. Some of the very common ones are

"SIT.. DOWN.. NOW.." Said whilst pointing where he wants you to sit and with a very stern face

"EAT.. YOUR.. DINNER.." said in exactly the same tone. Lol

But as I said, it's everything, even long sentences. So freakin cute, but have to be so careful what we say!

My son is 3.5 and I often get told 'that is not acceptable mumma' or 1,2,3 ummah time out you go..this is said in relation to him not getting what he wants quick enough or getting told no he cant have/do something. Although because his speech is delayed somewhat he cant say the big words clearly it sounds so cute.

I get told I'm silly all the time and he has started saying "oh my god!" Lol

Worst was the other week I'm usually very cautious with my swearing when he is around but the night before one of my cats wanted its dinner and flew out sending me flying and I hit the deck! I cracked it and said "F-ing Cats!" Didn't think he had heard next day he was telling the cat off for trying to steal his lunch and guess what he said.... Oops! Darn kids never listen when you want them too Lol
I just sat him down told him mummy was naughty using that word and it is a grown up word and he isn't to use it. He hasn't since thankfully!

Ds2 heard someone say ''awe s**t'' a little while ago. It's taking time to stop that one.

If I'm concentrating on something other than him I get ''mummy, I'm talking to you! You need to listen!''

I'd been ranting about DS's behavior one afternoon to DF while I thought he was out of earshot. I discovered how wrong I was when DS informed me 'Mummy you're really giving me the $hits today.'

Lol that reminds me of my cousins little girl when she was 2 was acting up and her mum wouldn't let her do something and she shot back at her " Mummy you're really starting to p!ss me off!" Lol

I get "I don't think so Mummy", from 3 year old DS all the time. The other one I get a lot is, "Mummy, can you hear me?", or "Mummy, you are not listening to my words", said in an indignant tone.

However, we get a lot of things repeated back at us.
