My 2:5 year old doesn't appear to place his hands out to break his fall. He has had 2 accidents in the last 2 months that have required serious medical treatment. I thought putting your hands out was a reflex and wondered does anyone know if this could be a sign of something else going on. He is quite bright( Knew all letters & numerals 0-11 by 2) unfortunately this also means he is inquisative and a very busy risk taker. He is physically adept and well co-ordinated. He just does not appear to perceive danger even on a basic level, as good as it gets is if he falls on his face he will turn his head to the side of he is able. Anyone seen or heard of this. Any ideas where to look next

Very normal. Some kids just think to brave themselves.

I was the same as a kid, never put my hands out to stop myself cause they get dirty.
