Lump?

I was just changing DS nappy and near his groin he has a lump...
I have a Dr Appt tomorrow but just wanted to know if any other bubs have had this and what it could be?

if its above his scrotum / next to his penis..

it could be either a hernia, or hydrocele...

my DS#2 had 3 operations before he was 2 for this [it was more complex than most, they are usually simple].. but his [double] were noticeable in my 38 week scan...

how old is he?

He is 12 months...It seems to be closer to his hip...iykwim...Like where your knicker line would be..

if its hard, it wouldnt be a hernia..

hernias are pliable, unless they are stuck...
[i know, i have two & they drive me insane, pushing them back in constantly]

i hope its not too serious...

It could be a swollen gland. I'm not sure if you have glands there tho.
My Ds had a lump on his neck which just turned out to be a swollen gland because he had a virus at the time. He had to get a BT done to make sure it was nothing worse.
Hopefully it is something minor. Let us know how you go.:fingerscrossed:

Hey bubbles....I was thinking maybe swollen gland also...
I havent been well since Sunday with this lovley gastro bug...
James has been OK has had 1 runny poo...(sorry tmi)
Night times we havent been having fun..Sleeping then waking....non stop all night...I have not been happy :shame: and have been feeling like the worst mother when at 3.30 in the morning after this happening all night I start yelling...:o
Oh well :fingerscrossed: the Dr will shed some light for us tomorrow..

I think swollen gland Kim, if he's been unwell, he's probably fighting an infection.

I have one in exactly the same spot, mine is about the size of a pea.
It hurts if i tend it poke it etc, but the rest of the time it doesnt trouble me at all. I have never remembered to talk to a doc about it.

Although my brother has 2 lumps one in his leg crease and one in his belly and the belly one is a hernia but they look exactly the same.

Hope its nothing too serious!!

Well went to the Dr this morning and everything seems to be A OK...
Dr said that is was a swollen lymph node which normally is caused by a open cut.
Myself and the Dr came to the conclusion that it may have been from his 12mth needle ***** holes that were done a week ago... :confused:
Nothing too serious but if it gets bigger and doesnt disappear within a week then to go back and see him....
