Hi, I've been going through IVF since November last year. Have had two IVF with ICSI cycles and one frozen cycle. I did fall pregnant on the third cycle but lost the baby at 16 weeks (2 months ago) I have just started a fresh cycle. We aren't telling anyone that we are trying again yet. Is anyone out there going through a cycle this month, would love to have someone to chat with. I'm very anxious this time round but haven't got my hopes up as it took 3 goes last time.

Thanks for the reply, I start my medication next week ( have been taking the contraception pill for the past two week) and am expecting egg pickup around 1st week of November. I'm feeling better now that I've started working towards getting pregnant again. I've been having acupunture for the past 6 weeks and chinese herbs (didn't do this before) so hoping this time works the first time. Will keep in touch. Lee-Ann

Hi there holtenpitkin,
I just thought I'd drop you a line. I also went through IUI (4 unsuccessful tries)and ICSI (1 unsuccessful cycle - 1 x fresh / 5 x FETs). When we knew that the first cycle was unsuccessful and that we were going to try for the second, I decided to go to a Naturopath that specialised in Chinese Remedies as I thought that Stress may have had something to do with the embryos not implanting (like you, I fell pregnant a couple of times but unfortunately they didn't work out).
I started going for weekly Acupuncture and they provided dry ingredients that I had to make a herbal brew out of and take twice a day (IT TASTED TERRIBLE!! It makes me shiver just thinking back on it!!). I stopped the brews when I first started the second round as I wasn't sure how the herbs and the injections would go together.
We were successful first time on the second round and I am now 25 weeks pregnant with twin girls!! I'm not sure if it was the Acupuncture or the Herbal brews, but that was the only thing that I did differently from the first to the second round so that must account for something!!
I wish you all the luck in the world with your ICSI cycles and hope that the acupunture does the trick :)

Hi guys!
Firstly, congrats TwinMum2Be!! Wishing you well for the rest of the pregnancy...
Secondly, good luck Holtenpitkin with this cycle... We just had a frozen embryo transfer yesterday... We have a DD conceived through ICSI. We had 2 failed IUI attempts and were incredibly lucky to conceive on our second full ICSI cycle. It also resulted in 5 frozen embryos.
It's a rollercoaster ride for sure, but feel free to vent here - we're a pretty supportive bunch!
Look after yourselves!
Cheers!

I'm so pleased for you. I start Synarel spray tomorrow and will continue weekly acupunture. I hope I'm lucky enough to fall first go, you must be so exited. Will let you know how I'm going when I start the needles. Enjoy your pregnancy and take it easy.

Hi
This is my first post and visit to the forum.
I've just started my first round of IVF - this is the 6th day of injections and go for first ultrasound on Friday. Its a really exciting time but scary at the same time.
Dh is giving me the injections and doing really well to say I have to wake him up to do them. Not feeling too bad at the moment but I've got great support from everyone at work when ever I feel a bit 'strange!'.
I have no real idea what to expect over the next few days. Hopefully on Friday we'll find out that everything is progressing as it should and we don't have to cancel the cycle.
Good luck to everyone and I'll keep you posted as to progress.

Good luck with this cycle... I found the first cycle hard because we just didn't know what to expect - but you sound like you're doing well!
Keep us posted!

hello all,
I did an IVF/ICSI split last cycle back in april, it was unsuccessful, 20eggs, 11 embryos, 2 put back and none could be frozen............... so we are back again for cycle two............... I am on day 3 of the syranel, and this time we are trying not to let this consume us..............
last time we were so confident and gee did we come crashing down when our results were negative.............lucky i have a home based bussiness to occupy my time, so i dont always have time to think about it...........
well i off to get some water as hyperstimulation was my down fall last cycle and that is not a pleasnt experience...............
talk soon and good luck to you all. :)

Hello
Had my ultrasound this morning. Lots of eggs which is great, although need to be a bit bigger.
The only disappointment is that they think there is a big chance that they will not risk putting any eggs back in due to hyperstimulation, so they will do a FET later. To make the waiting even longer we are going overseas at the time of the proposed FET for a month so it look slike it could be January before it all happens.
So, we are really happy that the eggs are there but disappointing about the wait.
I have to go back for a second scan on Sunday so I'll keep you posted.

They will keep a close eye on you Louby and if you are performing as you should they will go ahead and transfer. Fingers crossed....they always say that about not transferring due to possible hyperstimulation...don't let it worry you...I think they just try to mentally prepare you for alternatives to the journey. It might still happen!
Hope those ovaries behave!!

Hi - just a quick update.
Went for second scan and more blood test yesterday. Unfortunately oestrogen levels way too high and too many eggs. They are going to collect them tomorrow but no transfer this time.
Trigger injecyion caused a few issues - seemed to get it between two layers of skin and ended up with a big lump on my stomach where the drugs were sitting!
Feeling a bit disappointed as we'd been waiting for this point for a long time but I know we'll get there in the end.
They are going to keep a special eye on me for Hyperstimulation but hopefully lots of water and a bit of rest might keep it away.
I'll let you know how the collection went.
Byr for now

Thanks Petster
The collection went well - 33 eggs!!
Just called now and 22 have fertilsied - we are so happy. Hopefully a lot will make it until Friday when they will be frozen. Hopefully we'll have a FET in January.
Due to large number of eggs feeling very sore and sorry for myself today. Had IV fluids at hospital and just hoping I don't have to go back for more.
Thinking of everyone else - good luck to you all.

Fingers crossed for you Miranda, it sounds very positive for you. Wow, what a great result for you Lou, all those eggs. Start my injections Friday and I can't wait, never thought I'd be so pleased to be having needles. Had another round of acupunture today and am feeling very relaxed but still anxious.
