Does anybody "maintain" their pregnancy weight. For the past probably 2 months, I've maintained a 79kg weight.
I was overweight to begin with, but I get conflicting messages saying that I should only gain a minimal amount but with a former eating disorder I'm just a bit worried that everybody condones the weight that I am at and not gaining at all. I'm not saying I'm not going to gain any more weight but I'm just worried.
I'm not intentionally doing this, just stress is a major factor in this pg. I've told my ob these details and he seems to not have any issues with it.
Thoughts?
I think the biggest thing (especially if you have had a preivous eating disorder) is to just forget the whole concept of what is 'right' or 'wrong' with weight gain in pregnancy.
Instead, focus on eating healthy, nutritious, yummy foods that will help your baby grow big and strong! Give it the best start to life, and if that means that later in the pregnancy you gain some weight...or that your body stays happy with the weight you currently are as 'energy stores'....then that is the way nature intended it for you.
Despite all the research, and opinions, there is no right or wrong amount of weight gain PROVIDED you are eating healthily.
I am almost half-way through this pregnancy and havent gained anything above my starting weight, although I did lose a bit to morning sickness around week 7.
Good luck!
EDIT: Weird formatting, not sure what's going on there!

Thank you, I've managed to lose 1kg in the last 4 days. Not quite sure how that happened??.. I think stress is a major contributor this pg :(

I agree with cakeish. Just eat healthily and don't even think about your weight! I started my last preg very overweight and lost 13kg by the end of it because of horrible ms. Bubba was perfectly fine and the doc wasn't concerned at all, though he did question me about it a few times because I too have had an ED. This time I am not even looking at the scales. If I gain a bit, who cares, if I lose some, WHO CARES?! As long as bubs and I are both healthy.
