Hi ladies,

my DD won't let me put hair clips on her hair? She takes them off, and I don't want to trim her hair because it looks terrible. I know I've tried. :D

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks
May

Hi!
I'm a hairdresser by trade. So, I can understand your frustration!! Maybe try distracting her with something while you put them in so that she doesn't notice or at least quickly forgets!?! If you are wanting to grow her hair, I would highly recommend that you take her down to your local salon & get them to give it a little trim. It will really help it to grow, I find that baby hair tends to brake off a lot easier which leaves it pretty ratty on the ends. Regular trims=beautiful healthy hair!! :p LOL I sound like a sales person!!!!
Good luck

My DD has never let me put anything in her hair - clips, alice bands, little ponytails. Nothing. If I do manage to get one in it inevitably gets pulled out later. The ONLY thing that sometimes stays in more than a minute is a wide soft elastic hairband that I bought at Coles. It has big butterflies on it and occassionally she'll wear it.

I trim DD's bangs/fringe and the front sides just to keep it out of her eyes, and otherwise don't worry too much about her hair. It usually looks a mess, but oh well. Usually the trim is while she's sitting in front of the TV for distraction.

I'm not sure about the theory of cutting hair making it grow faster. The bit of hair being cut off at the end is dead anyways, isn't it? But a trim and getting it evened out will make it look better like Becky said.

Trim her hair at the back a little and don't shave your dd hair. My dd had patches and I was reccomended to shave her hair off I just said I wouldntr do it but then was told by a better hairdresser that that was old wives tale and all it does is make it grow back same length

My dd now looks cute with tiny tie and sml clips

OK I couldn't trim her hair. I just don't want to. She has really nice curls. What if they disappear?

If her hair has a lot of curls, she wont lose them!! It probably is naturally wavy. As it grows back they should come back (if they go a bit) or it may make it curlier! There's only one way to find out!! ;)
