My DS#1 got warts on his legs. It all started with one but now there are 10s of them:eek: !!! Mainly on the knees, behind the knee andon the calf. They don't irritate him but just look and feel terrible. The book and the doctor say that it is caused by a virus and it will eventually dissappear by itself. I wonder is there any natural remedy that helps to speed up the process?

Ok this may sound gross and unhygenic but get the boys to wee on them.

Warts usually go away byt them selves after so long

If you dont want them weeing on themselves you can get a peice of steak and rub on it and then bury the steak in the back yard its an old wives tale

I have warts on my finger (5 on one finger, 3 joined up to be one huge one!) (sorry if this is grossing anyone out!) and one big one on the soul of my foot, and a few little ones coming up now. I did the "leave em be , they will go away" thing, it worked for the first one but then i got more and they didnt go away ive had them for a few years now. i finally got the dr to freeze them. HURT LIKE HELL, but they are dying now.
You can get stuff from the chemist though, i wouldnt recommend freezing them on little ones, way too painful. But there is stuff i am meant to be using, Dermatech Wart Treatment or Duefilm? (sorry i cant read my drs writing lol). You just sort of brush it on, about 4 or 5 times my dr said, then cover it with a bandaid and it just kills it layer by layer, he said it shouldnt hurt. Im not sure if its suitable for little ones though.
There is nothing wrong with having warts so dont worry about that,. if you want to wait awhile and see if they go away i probly would, but if they dont, definetly look into the MANY different treatments for them. They also are meant to be a "sympathetic" bunch, so if you kill one of two generally the rest die off as well!

My oldest son had warts all over the soles of his feet and bottom of his toes 12mths ago. They never did go away so they had to be burnt off. The GP was REALLY good about it. He told Jacob to tell him if it started to hurt and did stop even if he thought he was hurting Jacob. We had it done in 2 sessions, 4wks apart. He would burn it with the thingy for a few seconds, stop, do a bit more, stop again and a bit more before moving onto the next one. Jacob said it never hurt a bit...but this is a kid who stopped crying after 5mins when he broke both bones in his arm, so he has a high pain threshold.

Buy the Scholl wart patches from the supermarket, and follow the instructions.

Brilliant, and just as good for plantar warts, too.

If you don't like that idea, then you can achieve the same result apparently by using a piece of banana skin stuck to te wart with surgical tape. The acids in the banana skin soften the keratin of the wart, and eventually it just peels away.
