Hi everyone,
Just thought I'd let you all know that we are finally gearing up to do our first cycle with donor eggs.
As some of you know, we found our beautiful donor after advertising here on Bubhub...I believe we were the first Buhub match in fact! Since then she has had her baby (who was very premature but is now healthy and thriving) and I have had a tumour removed from my neck (which turned out to be benign - phew!). So we're finally ready to start!
Since we met our donor in May we have kept in regular touch and become good friends. I've had the pleasure of meeting her children, her partner and her parents who are just all so wonderful and supportive. We've had time to talk about our hopes for the donation and beyond and both feel that we'd like to have some ongoing contact for the sake of all the children involved, as well as ourselves.
We've almost finished the counselling process through the clinic and on 3rd November have appointments with the nurses to begin the cycle!!! Yey. :smiliedance: All going well we're hoping for some very happy news around Christmas/New Year.
It's a little tricky to organise all this as our donor lives interstate and has three little ones, but so far so good. She and I are both on the pill, which is how the Drs get our cycles to be "in sync" with each other. I'll post any new developments here so watch this space. Wish us luck!

I've often wondered what's been going on for you, and have wanted to let you know that I'm here thinking about you, supporting you the way you have for me.

Hi Babydreams
I missed this earlier, been busy you know, and thanks for all your lovely messages today, and isn't it great.
As My journey gets the BFP and Michelle and Sarah complete their missions, and are in the LONG TWO WEEKS. Your journey is finally seeing the light of day, I hadn't realised you donor had a premmie, i nurse premmies, it's a hard time, and then your lump in the neck, so while you thought you would have a few months before starting, they turned out to be so traumatic.
So glad it has all ended happlily and you can breeze into your cycle.:fingerscrossed:
lots of:hugs: :hugs: n:kiss:
I'll remember the 3rd, good luck

I just wanted to pop in here and wish you the best of luck and I hope that you soon get the miracle baby that you are longing for.
I am carrying a donor baby, (we needed donor sperm and not eggs). And after 5 years of trying to conceive he really is our precious little miracle. I treasure every single little kick and I really hope you are feeling the same thing soon.
All the best to you :hugs:

And Hels, congrats on your little one! I know you understand the anguish of TTC conceive for so long and having to use unconventional means to achieve your dream. I really appreciate yoiu dropping in and wish you all the best with the rest of your pregnancy. Not long now til you meet your baby boy!

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been around much lately, I've been very busy with work and other commitments and can't seem to keep up with it all.
Well it's been quite a year...a miscarriage, finding a donor who ended up changing her mind, finding another donor who we love :hugs:, fighting a corporate legal battle, DH going away for a month OS, being diagnosed with a tumour and then having surgery to remove it (benign yey!) and starting a new business...makes me tired just reading what we've been through this year! But it's all been worth it because we are FINALLY ready to begin our first donor cycle!
We had our last counselling and nurse's appointments last Friday with our wonderful donor. It was a lovely day but it all went so fast! I wish we'd had more time to spend just hanging out with her, but before we knew it she was boarding the plane home with her little esky of drugs all ready to start cycling soon.
So the very first Bubhub donor/recipient match is just about ready to do a cycle. We are aiming for an early December EPU and will try to update as we go.
Thanks to Bubhub for being here (we wouldn't have found our amazing donor without it) and thanks to everyone who has popped in to offer encourgement and support.
Watch this space...our baby dreams might come true soon. :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed:
