Morning ladies(it is 8.05am here),

Thank you again for making me feel welcome and for answering my questions. It has been so useful.

My question is my baby of 4 1/2 months,Geneva Mae has 3 sleeps a day.She has a morning nap of about 45 minutes,a lunch time nap of 2 hours and a third nap in the afternoon of 45 minutes.I don't have any problems with the first and third nap.

The problem comes in with the second nap.She can never sleep longer than the 45 minutes and then she starts to cry.She will quickly resettle herself if I shake the cot/pram whatever she is sleeping in.She may cry a little on and off during the next 45 minutes but will settle quickly with the help mentioned. She gets a full bottle befor this sleep so she is not crying out of hunger.

Yesterday I tried to leave her when she awoke for 10 minutes. Her crying just got louder and she got so distessed that eventually landed crying the rest of the sleep time and never settled back to sleep. You might say she only needs the sleep to be 45 minutes but if I pick her up at that point she is very miserable and clearly has not had enough sleep.

Any ideas on how I get her to stay asleep for the 2 hours without my intervention?I did read that this sleep may sort itself out when she drops the 3rd afternoon sleep. Is this true and did this happen for any of you?

Thanks in advance again for all the help and advice-you guys are great!!

Sherilyn xx

Hi:wave:

Have a look at www.itstimetosleep.com.au It really helped me teach DS to settle himself when he woke up mid sleep. It didnt always work, but 90% of the time it did.
 Good luck
