I have started training for a marathon and am wondering does running affect milk supply? At the moment im running about 6 kms every 2nd night but its about to ramp up distance wise and fequency. Any advice would be appreciated!

Subscribing! I'm looking at getting back into exercise more seriously and wondering the same thing.

I ran half marathons whilst bf and one whilst pregnant to no effects... Just keep hydrated and rested!

I've been told fairly serious execise can affect your supply (I asked a similar question awhile ago), so I would keep a close eye on things, and like hannahly said, make sure you're really well hydrated and eating well.

Im bf and go to the gym every day(mon-fri). Ds feeds 3 times a day. I am doing 3 cardio sessions (between 3-10k) depending on how i feel and 2 weights session and my supply seems fine. I say go for it!

Depends on how old your bub is. I am a person where anything more than a light sweat would dramatically drop my supply. So till DD was 6mths old I only walked and did yoga/pilates. After she started solids I slowly brought in more energetic workouts but only once a week.

You need I think 1600-1800 calories a day for full time bf. So if you are burning more you probably need to eat a heap more and guzzle gallons of water.

Good luck

DS is 1 and I run every day. No drop is supply, I just eat when I feel hungry and keep up my fluids.
