View Full Version : Birthday Cake for DD's Third Birthday
For DD's 3rd birthday I was going to do individual patty cakes or something similiar in the shape of a '3'.
Does anyone have any other ideas on what I could do with patty cakes for her birthday cake?
Any ideas would be really appreciated

You could make a heap of fairy cakes and decorate them with sparkels or 100's and 1000's then arrange them in a (dont know how to describe it) but pyramid type thing. That way no cutting the cake and each guest gets their own lil cake. Have seen this done and looks very pretty
The woman's weekly cake book had patty cakes decorated like flowers (smartie in the middle and small marshmallows for petals), then arranged on a cake board, then you make stems out of green musksticks or those long thin green lollies and mint leaves. They looked really pretty.

my ds#1 just had a number 4 made - not out of pattycakes, but similar,
'icecream cones with cake in them'..
he had wanted carrot & pineapple cake made, then he saw carrot cakes made in cones on another cooking show & that is what he had...
you ice the tops & i put orangepeel, nutmeg & crushed walnuts..
cones dont really do it for me... but he liked the novelty & his older nephews didnt mind too much either..
just need a container to store them in until serving so they stay fresh...
Thanks for your ideas... :hugs:
I think I am going to go with the flowers one... I found the recipe and picture on a website... I'm just going to add a few things... Will post a pic after DD's Birthday
