Well, there is a time limit on getting your tax return done, maybe that's what your friend meant?
We did our tax return at least 6 months late and still got the payment. There's no time limit as far as I know. It is just done whenever your return goes in.

Pretty sure your spot on.. we werent even going to bother with our tax return.. cause it was only a few dollars. As late as we are  We still get the 600 per child payment
Hi, just wondering what this payment is? Is everyone eligible or is there special criteria? :detective:
You get it if you qualify for Family Tax Benefit (forgotten if it's A or B - it's the one which is dependent on your joint income, not the one that is for if the spouse is the main one earning

Tax return must be lodged by 30/06 of 2 fin yr following. Eg, 05/06 inc tax return must be lodged by 30/06/08.
If both (customer & partner - if applicable) have not done so by this time, then the entitlement to the supplement payments are lost.
Hope this helps.
Does anyone know how long after you have submitted your tax that it gets paid into your account?
I've just received my tax return but have not received any payment.
And I've also heard that it is income assessed - is this true or does everyone get $600?
