It was one month ago today that I left him. It feels like such a lot longer, but it's only been a month.
I feel so free, so much happier, so strong, so empowered. :)
My parenting has perhaps been less than perfect :( Stress takes a toll sometimes and I have raised my voice at Vallerie a lot lately. I am looking forward to next week, school starts again and she and I will both benefit from that structure and daily routine.
I have gotten a bit teary a few times, especially when I went back to his place to get some of my stuff. The reason I was upset was that I secretly wanted him to drop to his knee's, crying and begging me to come home
I guess I want to make the point, to anyone who is currently living in an abusive relationship, that even though the thought of "being a single mum" is scary, and even though the thought of leaving is very scary, the end result is much better than what you're living with now.
So I just wanted to mark this day, my one-month anniversary of liberation.
