A few weeks ago, my little chicken (6 mths) got the flu and even though it had pretty much cleared up - she has had lasting congestion. I've noticed over the last few nights that she has had a little trouble breathing with a blocked nose - so we tried using 'little noses' but we can't get much snot out (sorry to be gross) as it seems to be moving more down the back of her throat - last night she was up nearly all night coughing :crying: because of the snot in the back of her throat! I ended up giving her some Dymadon at 3am so that she could go to sleep and it lasted till about 5.30am before it started all over again. I'm going to take her to the doc today but just wondering if anyone else has had these symptoms and what they did?

Everytime EJ gets a bad cold we get the same problems sleeping - at pres shes getting over a cold (we all have it) and its got a shocking cough also. She had a cold a while ago that the cough lasted for weeks afterwards ...

Vicks baby balsam on the chest and back helps clear the breathing a bit. I give EJ infant demazin to dry things up a bit also if her nose is running and find it helps for a while as well as well as seems to help her sleep a bit better.

Unfortunately babies cant have cough syrup - its so horrible hearing them cough away and not being able to help :(

Hope Coco gets better soon :fingerscrossed:

 My 3 1/2yr old dd has had this nasty cough for nearly 8 weeks.

Its sending me up the wall :banghead: I have been giving her demizen at night to try and help her sleep but it doesn't completely dry her up to stop the post nasal drip which is what is causing the coughing.

The doctors just keep saying she must be getting a new strain of a cold just as she is getting better.

Sorry not much help but atleast I know my dd is not the only one.

Hi, I recently found out that Fess (Saline) comes in a spray too. I think the spray works a bit better. The Vicks Baby Balsam is good too. :)

hi guys  , i didn't want to start a new thread cause my question is kind of similar:rolleyes:. Coco Bean, i hope you don't mind me asking here as well.

my ds since yesterday morning has had a cough and snuffly nose. But he only coughs when i put him down for nap, and in the mornings when he gets up. He doesn't have a temperature and seems to be happy, being himself as usual...... And this morning he has been sneezing a fair bit

should i be concerned???
