Baby Passport question

We will need to get bub's a passport pretty much straight away as we have 2 weddings back home in november, can anyone tell me if we get it a NZL one or an Aussie one?
We have to register the birth here in WA, but no one can tell me about the passport situation.
It would be so much easier if we could put it on mine like we used to be as kids.

If they were born here to NZ parents in the last 9? (can't remember when exactly) years then they need to be registered for NZ citizenship and passports. It all changed.

ETA you can download the forms off the internet or they can be sent to you. Call the NZ Embassy in Australia toll free number.

sorry to crash ur thread but I have a similar question. miss 2 father has disappeared of the face of the earth but I need to get her a passport. can I do it without him?

You can possibly apply and sign a statutory declaration stating that fact? Or it might be one for court, I'm not sure, give them a call.
