Im a kiwi living in Perth but im up Joondalup way so no real help. But, our local markets have a few KIWI shops. In fact you cant walk 2 metres without running into a cuz

Alos theres this shop http://www.thekiwishop.com.au/Welcome.html
Theres one in Port kennedy whick is near rockingham. I find it nice to be around a little piece of home while im there. bring on the buzz bars and pixy caramels
It may not help with 'friends' as such but its a step, they may be able to put you in touch with 'kiwi groups' of some kind. Just a thought. Good luck

Ooh Gemma, I am kiwi, currently in Melbourne but moving to Perth in a month - to Waikiki, just down the road from you! We should catch up! DP is from Perth but I don't know anyone there. I'm sick of being a lonely bored SAHM!!

We are currently in Kalgoorlie but moving to Waikiki in the next 12 months :) just gotta get DH's job sorted :) I loved Rockingham and the lifestyle, growing up in the naki was great with the beach 5 minutes away :) i want our kids to have that as well. i kinda miss the water living in kalgoorlie 4 hours drive to esperance just to put my feet in the ocean...
Kiwi shop is addictive!!! they send stuff up to kalgoorlie, and all i felt like yesterday was spicy tomato munchoes but they had sold out!! there were heaps there last weekend..Think i will be sending a box of food from home back when we go home next month :)

Oh Baldivis is really close :-) DP has a mate that lives there too.
Ooh and another new waikikian :-P Hehe We chose Waikiki cos it was the only house and land package near a train station (DP can't drive) and because I love the idea of being that close to the beach!
Yeah, I moved to Melbourne over a year ago, but when I fell pregnant and moved to the burbs, my single friends kind of dropped away a bit, and then we decided to build the house in Perth, so I haven't made an effort to build a mum network here, knowing we would be leaving soon. So I'm really looking forward to being able to get out and meet some people once we're over there.
I grew up in the Bay of Plenty (Kawerau), but I consider Wellington home, I've lived there on and off most of my adult life and my family lives there now too. I went to Vic uni.
That's so cool to hear about the Kiwi shop!! Do they have Mallowpuffs?? I do enough for a Mallowpuff! :-P

I looked up Ambleside Parade, it's practically around the corner from where we're gonna live :-) And yes, there is a lovely looking beach a couple of minutes away, which is awesome. Although we haven't actually been to the house site yet!! But DP is from Perth so knows the area, and his mate drives by and takes photos of the house progress! :-P
Yeah it's pretty silly that it will be cheaper for us to pay our mortgage on a 4 bedroom house in Perth than to rent a 3 bedroom house in Melbourne!! Part of what helped us make the decsion to move.
Yep I'm on FB, I'll PM you :-)

I hope we get it too. Going to see if we can have a look through it when we are down next month before we fly out.... FX it's still on the market then.... but we would have to sell our house up here i think... not sure if we could get a dual mortagage although they are crying out for rentals here.

changethestars give me a message when u arrive in perth and we can arrange to meet up and hoping28 when u arrive drop us a message so we can also meet up if ya like :)
I missed all of this! I was too busy having my newest little girl at the time.
I live in Port Kennedy, so very close to a Kiwi Shop, Waikiki and Baldivis!
If you are going to catch at all, please let me know and I'd love to be there as well.
I grew up in Gisborne but was born in Palmy Nth and have lived in Wellington, Nelson, Feilding and Masterton. DH is a Kaikohe boy who has also lived in Whangarei, Masterton and Palmy Nth.
I'm an older Mum with 3 living children - two of them born in NZ and one little sandgroper. As of next week we're a fifo family ...
