I've compiled some resources with information pertaining to attachment parenting and divorce/separation. I've had a few people ask me whether it is possible to practice this parenting philosophy as a single parent or while experiencing a separation or divorce, and I want to advise that you absolutely can!

Perhaps we can use this particular thread to share tips and advice on this subject :goodvibes: As usual, feel free to share further resources and offer as much advice as you wish :)

I guess it has been easier for me because it was just the 2 of us right from conception so no battles, no sharing, nothing.

I come from a divorced family. We always stayed in bed with mum, 3 of us up until we were ready to change, my sister was in there until she was 13 and my mum and her have an inseparable bond :) my brother is a huge softie! My grandparents and aunt/cousins are all attachment family. Always slept in a single bed with at least 4 kids and jumped in bed with nan and grandad... Good safe memories compared to pre divorce.

I'm an AP Mum, now solo, I guess with us, I was more into the AP anyway.... I think AP definitely helps the kids through big change, loads of talking and physical contact, heaps of timetogether as our new family unit really helped to keep the boys feeling safe and secure although their world was in flux.

Thanks for all the links!! :)

I practice ap (but my ds sleeps in his own room).

He stays with his daddy once A fortnight and when he comes home he breastfeeds, cuddles, and gemerally caries on like usual.

He tends to have morning cuddles more when he has been away but i think this philosophy is a factor as to why he copes so well with long daycare and the separation.
