My sister has just had her baby and recieved her baby bonus but she has gone in to centrelink and made appointments with them to discuss getting the ftb a and b but they keep telling her they cant help her. she has just come off youth allowance recently.

I cant remember how i got my ftb i thought it was automatic though.
how did others get theres if you remember or those that just have with their first

Once she has provided income details for her and partner (if she has one) It should be done automatically if eliglbe.. thats what I thought.. and thats what we've done.

have you had a look on the centrelink site

She should have received the relevant forms while in hospital. If she didnt she can get the forms from centrelink but as they are not being very helpful she can go to her closest Medicare Office as they also have a Family Assistance section and some one there should be able to help her.

Unless her partner (if she has one) earns over $100,000 per year she is entitled to some sort of Family Tax benefit payment. If she is single she is entitled to both parts A & B of the FTB and she would also be entitled to the Single Parenting Payment
