Help with Nanny Share Prahran/South Yarra/Malvern/Windsor areas

I am looking at sharing the cost of a nanny with another mum. I live in Prahran and have a 9 month old son. I am on lots of waiting lists for positions at centres but none have come up as yet. My first bub so new to all of the struggles to find good child care. If the share nanny arrangement works I think I will give away the idea of trying to get him into a centre and keep going with a share nanny on a more permanent basis. I need to return to work as soon as I get care for junior.

The days of care i would require would vary from week to week as my work times are flexible. I am happy for you to bring your bub to my place or for us to come to yours. I am in the process of interviewing nannies at the moment so I haven't decided on one, but am happy if you already have one that you prefer. I think the idea of sharing a nanny could work very well firstly for the bubs to be socialised, have better one on one attention and also a little easier on the back pocket too. My son is very cruisy and very social.

Hi there,

I have got my son a position in child care, However its all the way over in North Melbourne so I would still be interested in Nanny share. I work odd hours so some days i only need a half days care say up to 2pm. My son is now 15 months old (a while since i posted the ad). Would you be looking at having the nanny do the care at your place or split the care locations ?? Would be interested to know your thoughts. Regards Ira

At the moment I have a spot at long day care three days a week. I usually only drop my daughter for half the day but being full day care I have to pay for the full day regardless. It is also a fair drive from our home. So a shared nanny might be a more economical and convenient option for us both.

I also have flexibility with my work. :cheerleader1: My employer has told me to fit my work around my childcare arrangements.

My daughter is 14 months old - she was born in March last year.

What would be your ideal childcare arrangement, what days and hours?

Nice to hear from you thanks. At the moment the days I have my son in care vary from week to week.

My work life is a little tricky to explain. I work in an airline operations centre 6 days on then 4 days off including weekends, so for example some weeks I have him in for 5 days then the next week it might only be for 2 days, i also only have him in for half days. My hubby usually drops him off at around 0830 and I usually collect him at around 1330. So paying for full days care is a real bummer. My hubby looks after my son the weekends that I am working.

Also to note, we live in a 2 bedroom apartment with only a balcony which can be a little small at times so I was ideally looking to do nanny share with someone that would be willing to have the nanny at there home so the kids would have a little more space to play.

Interested to know if the above would work for you and your thoughts, happy to provide any further info.
