Hi Belinda..
it depends if you want to use flats or fitteds.
If you want to have a go at fitteds then i would suggest using a few different types from All In One's, pocket nappies ect ect..
have a look around in the cloth nappy threads there's alot of info in regards to this.
Goodluck :)

as newborns grow so quick and they are quite hard to predict the size of, i would by some flannellette flats and boost with bamboo. This way you can fold to the size you need and use a strip of bamboo (or hemp) to add to the absorbency. (this is what i am planning on doing with bub #2)
later on the boosters can be used in fitteds or in pocket nappies.
you dont want to buy too many of one sort as they may not work for your bubs shape or your lifestyle. maybe buy a few second hand ones from mums here or on Nappycino, then when you find one style that works, buy a few more.

With my next bub I am going to use prefolds with a well fitting cover. They need frequent changes as newborns so this to me seems to be the best way.
