Guidelines for Handmade Card Swap.

* Your card must be handmade, and you can use whatever mediums/techniques you like - stamping, scrapping, stitching, painting ... whatever you're into!
* You'll need to make five (5) identical cards, plus an extra one for yourself to keep. You'll then get five different cards back, one from each person in your group. * Size is open, although A6 (A5 folded) is a good standard size if you're not sure where to start.
* You'll need to provide envelopes for your cards. These need only be plain envelopes, but they'll need to match the size of your card.
* Please keep the cards as 'professional' as possible. If a line is meant to be drawn/cut straight, then please make sure that it is straight. Please rub out any unnessary pencil lines etc, so that the cards are passed on as finished products.
* Please do not sign up for the swap if you do not intend following through. Other people will be relying on you to do your part for the swap to be a success.

Postage guidelines:
Round 5 is officially open....... here are the guidelines.....

Once sign-ups are closed, I'll PM each member of the swap with my postal address. You'll then need to make sure they arrive to me by post before the deadline.
Just a few requirements to make sure that our work is not damaged by weather, over-enthusiastic postmen etc -
* Please place each card into its own snaplock bag marked with your name and seal.
* Include a self-addressed A4 envelope, with $1.50 postage on it. Please include an extra $1.50 worth of stamps in case the postage costs more. Unused stamps will be returned to you with your cards.
* Place all into another snaplock bag, so that all cards, return envelope and stamps are weather-proof.
* It's also handy to place another piece of cardboard into your envelope to act as a 'stiffener' to protect against bending in transit.
* Also important - please mark your envelope front and back with "Do not bend" so that your cards are returned to you unharmed.

When creating cards for more than one group...do you put them all in the one envelope..whats the system? I have read the instrutions but this is the first time I've done more than one group

Yep, they all get sent in the one big envelope and you'll get all your groups cards back in one envelope too. Is that what you meant?

Im pretty sure we leave them blank... for ppl to write in them. But if you wanted to print out or stamp a Happy Christmas message or such that would be alright.

Do I mark which group each card set is part of on the main bag?
and I assume I provide the stamps for the amount it will cost to post all sets in the one envelope...and one envelope so all cards from all sets are returned together?

Yes mark what sets are what please so I know. With regards to writing in them, either leave them blank or put a small printed or stamped message. For posting guidelines:

I guess I was wondering for all 4 sets...do they exceed the allowed weight in the A4 envelope or does one need a bigger one and does it end up costing more than $1.50.

When I sent cards for the last set I got the instructions correct...but that was for one set..just wondered if I should expect to pay more this time

It's a bit confudsing isn't it, the $1.50 postage bit? Maybe next time we do a swap we should put $1.50 per group of cards.

A good guess is just to put on the SSAE the amount it cost for you to send yours, then include a couple of extra stamps just in case.

I think i just confused everyone a bit more didn't i! :o :laughing:

Okay ladies, my laptop got hit by lightening yesterday and is dead :(. Its only new too!! But anywhooos i'm at Mums using her computer for the moment whilst mine is getting fixed.

Im worried about my cards, I dont trust those posties... it said 'do not bend please' on it but the lady at the post office who took it was really rough with it... should reach you on Friday... or Monday :thumbsup: . It has been REALLY hot here, so I hope all the glue doesnt melt on the way lol!

I think you have given me the flu!!! .I started feeling rough last night and then this morning - goodness I felt awful - I have ached all day, nothing eases my headache and my throught feels as if it has been rubbed with rough sandpaper.

Needless to say I haven't posted my cards today but I shall try tomorrow, sadly us mums don;t get the luxury of taking to our bed when ill, kids still neeed looking after don't they?!
