View Full Version : Co sleepers-what does your baby wear to bed?
I'm bedsharing with my 3 month old. Just wanted to ask what people dress their baby in for bed as I don't want her to be too hot or too cold. I always seem to end up having to change her halfway through the night as I get paranoid she's hot or cold!
Generally she wears a Bonds one-piece with long arms but no legs, or sometimes one with short sleeves. I sometimes start her off in alight 0.5 tog grobag before I go to bed too, but by the time she wakes up for her first feed she feels too hot in the grobag (when I'm next to her).
I'm in Brisbane and it's generally 20-24 degrees in our room at night.
What do other people do? I'd prefer to avoid changing her in the night as obviously it wakes her up :)
HI Rosycheeks, I'm on the Gold Coast, and my twins wear the same as your DD....a one-piece with long arms and no legs. I put them in a love me wrap at night, but during the day they sleep in a lighter weight muslin wrap.
At that age, DS was still swaddled and it was quite warm weather so he'd just wear a singlet suit or similar short arm/leg suit, and be wrapped.
These days...it depends on the weather but he won't sleep with the blankets on him at all, so usually just a thin all in one, or a suit with short arms/legs in the summer, and a wondersuit or fleecy suit if it's extra cold in the winter :)
Just go with your gut!
We out our son in a short sleeve all in one and a me love me wrap.
We're in Perth and bub sleeps in a short sleeve no leg suit, my boys 3&4) sleep in short/tee shirt pajamas :)

In summer DD just wore a bonds singlet one piece. I always checked the overnight temp before dressing her. She always wore leg free onsies on summer just depended on the arms.
Thanks for the replies. It is just hard to know what to put her in as she is cuddled up to me about half the night so gets very warm, but before I go to bed I worry that she'll be too cold and end up removing a layer sometimes. It is meant to be 23 degrees at 3am tonight so I guess I'm dressing her in something light tonight :)

DS is a part time co sleeper. He wears either a short or long sleeve onesie with an 0.5 tog gro bag. He doesn't like any covers so he sleeps up at the top of the bed and I have covers only up to my waist.

If it was a cooler summer night, short sleeve no legs suit. If it was hot, nappy & singlet. How house then was to hot for sleeping bag during summer.
dd wears a sleeping bag/thick onsie, and its around 14-18 degrees here in our bedroom at night
right now a t-shirt and nappy, he over heats otherwise

DD (12 months) ia wearing a Short sleeved body suit tonight.
Long sleeved body suit on cooler nights! We try not to overheat her. She tends to run quite warm.
DS (3) feels the heat as well. He sleeps in just a pull-up most nights. He is old enough to snuggle up to us or pull the blanket upif he gets cold, though
