breast reconstructins covered by medicare?

This thought just popped into my head the other day, no reason for it, but I am wondering, if you had to have a breast removed, due to cancer, would the reconstruction be covered by the public system?

its covered but usually well at least in NSW there is about a 3 year waiting list as its classed as cosmetic.
