Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has any comments about jolly jumpers? Good/Bad?
I am thinking about getting one for my son as we were at a friends who had one and he tried it out and loved it! I personally think they are good in small doses (not to have baby in there for long periods), as it provides bubs with a new view on the world, different feeling etc. Also I think there is another brand called jumping joey?

Cheers

My son absolutely LOVES his jolly jumper. He's been in it for about 4 months now and gets a kick out of it (literally!).

But yes, use only in moderation (like everything in life).

Useful for the mornings when you HAVE to do something and you can't have bubs in your arms - like shower, brekky. You can hang him up in the room you are in and grab a few minutes for yourself.

My son LOVES to bounce around while watching me clean rooms - strange, but true. :)

I bought the Jumping Joey the other day for my 10 week old. The Jumping Joey can be used from 3 months because it has more support. My son is a big boy and has good neck control though so he was fine in it and loved it. It says you should only leave them in it no longer than 10 minutes at a time. :)

There's a few threads discussing Jolly Jumpers that you might find helpful as well here (http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=2972&highlight=jolly+jumper)

We had one given to us but we didnt find it very good for DS as he had reflux and it just made him throw up  (even hours after his feeds) So we gave it to my DN and he loved it. So I think their good just not for all bubs.

alice used hers from 3 1/2 months to about 9 months when she just got sick of it and didn't enjoy it anymore.

in between though she ABSOLUTELY LOVED it!!! (and it bought us some peace when we wanted to eat dinner etc!)

We got a Jumping Joey fo DD,she absolutley loves it!.
The straps on the joey are wider than the jolly jumper, just seemed a bit more secure, also it's a bit cheaper too.
Belinda, the box states up to 15kgs or when bub starts walking.. that is the limit. :)

both of my kids loved the jolly jumper and in summer we used to hang it from our outside pergola and put a half shell (swimming pool) under them with about 3cms of water in it they used to love splashing and jumping it kept them amused for ages and us free to enjoy our BBQ's
