My DS is 5 and has an umbilical hernia, he has had it since birth and we kept being told that it would disappear on its own, well now it is getting even bigger and he is too old for it to go on its own accord. It looks like a huge grape in his bellybutton. We have a specalist appointment next week, and i would expect that they will say it needs to be operated on, i was wondering if anyone else's child had a similar problem or has had the operation to fix it? Is it a day procedure? thanks for any advice:)
