So I have been obsessing over nutrition since I got my first positive (home) test a week or so ago.
I read in a few googled sites now that uncooked parsley is a no no. Some things say it inhibits milk production after birth, but I don't get why it would be bad otherwise, in pregnancy. Any theories or anything??
I guess I'm really sulking coz I wanted my sisters tabbouleh on Christmas Day :D

The oils can cause uterine contractions. A small amount as a garnish won't hurt though as there wouldnt be enough oils. Just don't go drinking parsley tea or anything :)

Every time I have been pregnant I have been banned by DH from eating it (esp in large doses) cause it can cause miscarriages. The herbal tea is used to bring on your periods. Both my FIL (who is herbalist) and one of my oldest friends (who is a naturapath) have confirmed this
I steered clear of it in my pregnancy. I was very pedantic though and wouldn't eat anything off the banned list!

Lol, I stuck the banned list on my fridge! Thanks guys :)
:eek:wow i had never heard of this before. glad i dont drink tea or eat tabouleh
Honestly I don't mean to offend anyone but there is no need to avoid normal amounts of parsley! You would have to eat an absolute ton for it to have any negative impact. I have a couple of pregnancy nutrition books and there are several recipes with parsley, including tabouli (sp?).

Sweeeeeeeet!!!! I will just not go crazy overboard then :) but I will enjoy it nonetheless. Cheeeeeers!
Man, I was going to have a fairly parsley intensive salad for dinner tonight... I guess I will cut back on the amount.
Is there anything fun you can eat care free whilst pregnant lol!!
