DDs are nearly 10 and 7.5 yrs old and they LOVE to make things...

grandma is a teacher at spotlight and has spent many a school holidays with the girls teaching them things... they can sew on a machine, use an over locker, do beading, cross stick, latch hook, long stitch, fabric paint, mosaics , glass paintings ect ect ect so they are ready for new projects and i am not as talented as grandma!

our family gets a kick out of having things homemade for xmas and i enjoy doing little crafts for xmas and we start at this time of year and spent every saturday building up our gifts to give to family and friends...

last weekend we cut up sponges and potatos and got the brown paper rolls and paint and made all our gift wrap.

this was todays craft..

these were great - i cut them out of the material and then gave them to DDs to do! they did all the stitching, stuffing and then stitched them up..the only thing i did was turn them inside out and tie the knot in the ribbon!

does anyone have any ideas on what else we could do that will be easy enough for me to give them a hand with? any ideas for any age would be great as i have ds who is 4.5 and he likes to have a go at things too.

What about some Christmas decorations? You could get some plain shiny balls and decorate them with glitter etc, or those foam balls and do something cool with ribbons and beads. (thread the beads onto pins and stick them into the balls iykwim?)
