just in case it hasn't been said, i noticed i missed some heated debate on this *new study* on breastfeeding and related iq points. i had a look at the abstract that was linked and noticed that this study was based on data from the us in 1979. the data dad not seem to look at duration of breastfeeding, so breastfeeding could have been 3days, non exclusive or exclusive all lumped into the one group.
there have been more recent studies published with better data collection from about 1995 that do seem to show infant nutrition affects brain developement.
there is so much that affects iq, bfding is just one thing that may have some influence statistically on these things.
either way it is important to have full and correct info on these things i reckon:)
