Hi everyone,

Was just wondering if anyone else had been given ondaz zydis to help with morning sickness. It says in the leaflet that it shouldnt be taken if your pregnant but my doc gave it to me and didn't really explain any side effects. I googled it and couldn't find much info so was just wondering if anyone can help me out : )

Thanks

it says that because they've not thoroughly tested on pregnancy women because obviously they can't use pregnant women as guinea pigs and it is is a pretty strong drug.

Your doctor will have weighed up giving it to you and having you possibly keep food down and not suffer from dehydration.

They din t give it out lightly I know because I suffered through hyperemsis with my first pregnancy being told how sick I was, was normal, I should have been on it and even hospitalised. On top of throwing up in many many places and still working inspite of being sick about 30 times a day and not keeping anything down, I ended up with a UTI and severe kidney infection at 20 weeks weighing only 48kg, and threatened labour, I was bed bound in severe pain for several days, luckily at 23weeks my hyperemesis finished and I got better but I learned from the experience so when I had hyperemesis in my 5th pregnancy I tried the other 'safer' (because they've been using it for pregnant women longer and know it's 'safe') stuff but it'd last about 30mins and I'd pass out within 10mins not helpful in any sense to work and feel as bad if not worse.

For some women who have HCG it doesn't work or might just take the edge off for me I lived on it until 26weeks and between it twice a day and sucking on hydralytes all day long I managed only 2 hospital stays.

You could always discuss with a pharmacist as they are very up to minute on any side effects but from my discussions with multiple obs, GPs, and pharmacists it did just seem to be so the company could cover their butts.

I got my script at the hospital and the hospital pharmacist said it was fine.
